Not another Dumba trade

That very well may be true. But if he performs well during the 8? game trial, I can see them having him stay up the rest of the season.

2020 lineup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>staytru20</b></div><div>Orlov isn't very good on the right side. I have no idea why this site has him listed as an RD. Jensen is also not great on his off-side. Forward group looks good, I like Sprong on the third line with more defensively responsible players like Eller and Hagelin.
I think the defensive corps end up looking like:
Dillon - Carlson
Orlov - Schultz
Fehervary/Siegenthaler - Jensen
I think TVR is more of an insurance policy for Schultz, since he's pretty darn injury prone. I really think that's why Jensen hasn't been moved, since he's still capable of a second or third pairing deployment. What I'd really love is Schultz getting some sheltered deployments.</div></div>
Yeah I totally forgot about Siegenthaler because he's an RFA and I just didn't really think about that.

Oof. As a caps fan this is a god awful trade. The Tanev signing is also garbage. We've got Fehervary and Alexeyev coming up. No reason to overpay for another defensemen with Vrana and Ovi needing contracts in 2021. The only thing I agree with here is signing Lundqvist. I saw on another comment that you don't like how the C's don't win face-offs. Id say move Kuzy to wing, Eller 2C, then move McMichael to 3C. I also believe that caps need to move Panik and his 2.75 mil cap hit. Sprong just signed a 2 year deal that is much cheaper, and he can contribute just as much as Panik.

Trading DeAngelo and Strome
As a Caps fan I say no thanks to Strome. We already have our center positions filled with Kuzy, Backy, Eller, and Dowd.

Are we contenders next year
I like this lineup. One change I would make personally is flipping Panik and Hagelin. Panik Dowd and Hathaway looked like a very good 4th before the whole pandemic thing happened last season.

2020 offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Capitalfail67</b></div><div>He’s actually the capitals best overall defensemen.... I would t trade him at all I think he’s really good. Watch him closely this year he’s actually really good</div></div>
I probably watch like 70/82 regular season games a year. Orlov just doesn't impress me one bit. He'll show spurts of dominance. But for 5.1mil cap hit I expect better from him. With Fehervary and Alexeyev coming up as well. I can see Orlov being very much expendable in the near future.

Are you sure you don't want Panik? I just picked DET because they've got a decent amount of cap space lol.

2020 offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>markykins1</b></div><div>You've put a lot of thought into this one, good effort. First, I would say they wait until next summer (after the Q season ends) before they sign Hendrix to his ELC. I think they (and the hockey world) want to see if he's recovered and how his game looks first.
As for Panik, I now believe they would have to send a pick or middling prospect (that said team likes) out with him. Caps can't start sending picks out again as they end up short every year. At some point, they have to covet their picks more and just say NO.
I also don't think they move Orlov. I think they might consider it next year if the Ovi and Vrana extensions become too much, and with a flat cap it just might.
I can't see Tampa moving Cirelli, I would be very surprised. They are in deep right now it's true but Tampa always seems to get bailed out by some one. I say let them burn. They should be sending out a Johnson, a Gourd, a Kilorn with pick or prospect or both. Teams should fleece them to help them out but they always seem to find a sucker...
I like your UFA contracts but don't need Maroon. We have some Hershey kids that finally need a shot.</div></div>
I agree with most of what you've said. But with Boyd now a UFA and not coming back. Who's gonna be the next man up. Gersich hasn't looked good in Hershey. I guess Sprong could be. But he's been awful during his NHL stints. I think Maroon would be a good player to have if they move on from Panik or Hagelin. The caps need an energy guy, and I personally think Maroon could fit that whole.

Im just not a big fan of Orlov. I don't expect him to have an "it" factor. But he's such a liability on the defensive side of the ice.

882 Cap
I do agree that Manson would take a decent amount of assets to move, but I feel like people are overvaluing him. On Dillon, he’s been a great fit with Carlson and a 2/3 deal would give more time for Fehervary Alexeyev Johansen etc. to grow and become NHL caliber defenseman.

Next Year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ClockReads2113</b></div><div>They could definitely get a 1st but in way in hell should they ever think about trading him. He's the best defensemen (in terms of defense) they have. He's low key elite.</div></div>
No doubt that he has the ability to be elite. But in my opinion he's making way too much for all the mistakes he makes on a game to game basis. For example, last night he kicked a puck past Holtby to tie the game.
