Interesting to see if Kuzmenko is more Kaprizov or Gusev then.

Gimme feedback on what you think
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GenW</b></div><div>Explain which RHD prospects you're talking about</div></div>
They could reasonably draft 1 or 2 RHD in the first and second round of the 2022 draft. Add the three 2nd rounders in 2023 that's a lot of possibility to draft by position at least once.
Currently the team has Johnson (if signed), Bryson, laakksonen, Fitzgerald and even Samuelsson who could all switch to the right. Nick Hjalmarsson was phenominal on the right side for example.
I would add that Owen Power could cover the right side very effectively. Everytime I've seen Power play he is very fluid accross the whole zone.
Unless the Sabres can sign someone like Manson for 3-4 years, they should just carry on as they have. A number of players have made great progress this year such as Tage who is now a center, so hardly a reach to move a left shot D to the right side.

I think this GM team is far to complicated, if there is a player Buffalo needs they should go and get them. They need an experienced RH D with good term, Tey already have enough prospects and will only add more during the draft, Clarke and even Chychrun don't help the Sabres, what the team needs is to build these players with there own resources.

Even with Miller, Schneider, Trouba, Nemeth, Lindgren, Fox all on the roster? A lot of competition for bottom pair minutes. Rangers could flip the pick for an established forward?

They will need to make the floor next year. Ritchie and Dermott help for 2022-23. Don't forget Johnny Boychuk was a part of the Sabres cap hit this year. Also players they add and call-up (Power, Johnson, Quinn, Peterka) all have entry level cap hits.

Well, he's not getting traded then. It has to be for a potential 1st line center as a minimum, picks and roster players can be an after thought, but if the Sabres don't get the gem at center, no deal can be made for Eichel and he can suffer in silence with the Sabres (or actually be part of the solution).

I think it would be the only thing to hold back the deal. Maybe top 5 protected is better. As long as Zegras is in the deal it's all good tbh.

I really like Chinakhov too, I just think he will have to earn his stripes at the start of the season. Most players have to spend time in the minors to start even if its just a few games.

Jarmo loves Bemstrom as well, especially after what he did in Finland last winter.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>Is Nyquist even gonna play?
You got Domi out.
Laine has to be on the block. I just can't see him resigning to be part of the rebuild. He's got 2 years and he's a UFA and I don't see him signing long term here.
He's got to be the next one out the door.
Bjorkstrand, Jenner and Voracek right behind him.
Although they may want to keep Jenner.
But there has to be a clearing out if they are going to rebuild. Anyone staying right now is just filler till draft picks can play.
They want to be near the bottom the next 2 years.</div></div>
Nyquist is skating and was also protected in the expansion draft, so assume he can be ready to start in October. I think 7.5 is Laine's qualifying offer, and in 1 year he is still RFA. If he has a good season he can be signed to a longer deal for sure. The talent is there, just needs to prove it again. Jenner will also be re-signed, very consistant player and can score goals (or hit the post a lot), AAV would not grow by much as he cant consistently play the whole season through injuries. I don't think the team needs a rebuild, just waiting now for the centers drafted today to have an impact. If anywhere is urgent then it's a top RHD, but by the time Sillinger and Kent Johnson arrive, so will Vorenkov and Marchenko. This is already a good team, just don't expect good defense.

Neither version has massive value. It's 50/50 if he will be any good on a different team.

You have to lose someone good in the expansion draft, that's how it works. Otherwise you end up doing what the Bruins did last time and give Vegas Colin Miller to protect Malcom Subban. Three months later they lost Subban to waivers without him even playing a game. Jokiharju hasn't set the world on fire and someone has to go.
They also might as well give Granato a chance, he's about average age for a head coach, don't be so negative.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>xjoeyc23x</b></div><div>If eichel is in 2021-2022 then Krejci isn't. Coyle is your #3 center until Bergy retires in this case. Then Eichel's your #1, Coyle #2, and Frederic or Lauko hopefully is #3.</div></div>
I think Krejci is a great pro and 2-way centre. If he would accept that sort of contract value you couldn't hand pick a better third line center. I don't think Lauko is projected to play center at this time and Wagner would move to center if Frédéric is better on the wing.
So what if Coyle plays on the wing for a while, he can rotate on face offs with Eichel. This team would be awesome.
You can swap out Kase or DeBrusk, it makes no difference at this moment in time, both players need to move out of difficult injuries.
