Bruins after trade deadline
If I am Don Sweeney...I am going all in for another run at the cup while we still have the core of Bergeron, Marchand, Krejci, and Rask together. You can make the argument that the B's biggest need is at LD (considering the youth of the left-side and the injuries they are battling through right now), but you also could argue that we need more scoring up front. I decided it was best to address Boston's LD depth and add more scoring as well as grit up front. We saw how important gritty players like Goodrow, Maroon, and Coleman were for Tampa last year on their cup run so I decided to trade Kase for Bennett one-for-one given Calgary has shown interest in Kase in the past and while he has much better offensive upside than Bennett, you can’t forget about playoff Bennett. Bennett would add more stability and grit to Boston’s bottom-six come playoff time whereas Calgary gets rid of the player who requested a trade and bets on Kase to stay healthy and bounce back. My initial trade with NJ was Palmieri for Kase, a 2021 2nd, and a 2022 4th. I decided to spice things up a bit since DeBrusk has been a huge disappointment for many Bruins fans (not myself as I feel he still has a 30-goal ceiling and may just need a change of scenery), so I decided to send DeBrusk, prospect Oskar Steen, and a 2021 2nd to NJ for Palmieri with 50% salary retained and Miles Wood. Miles Wood would be a work-horse in Boston’s middle-six bringing speed, grit, and solid 2-way play whereas Palmieri can slot in at 2RW next to Krejci and provide 5on5 goalscoring as well as PP support. The last trade addressed the need for more LD depth…I targeted Ekholm since he brings size, experience, and solid 2-way play to Boston’s left-side and comes at a very reasonable deal that doesn’t expire till after the 21-22 season. Bjork, Vaakanainen, and a 2021 1st is a fair trade I believe but an extra pick or mid-level prospect can always be added if needed. Obviously bringing Ekholm in would make the Seattle Expansion draft that much more interesting given Boston would most likely lose Grzelcyk, but with the rise of both Lauzon and Zboril this season I feel like it could make it hurt less or maybe Seattle decides to pick one of Lauzon/Zboril instead. Let me hear your thoughts!

Bruins Starting Lineup based on Camp and Bruce Cassidy Quotes
They worked on specials teams during yesterday’s scrimmage and those were the lines. I agree it’s a weird combo especially with no true center on the second PP unit (Apparently Smith can take face offs). Zboril was also rotating in on the second PP unit in Kase’s spot. It seems as though the 1st unit will be Bergeron in his usual bumper position, Marchand on right lane, Coyle as the net front presence. Gryz taking Krugs spot in the back and Krejci in Pastas normal spot on the left .

Bruins after Trade Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ryminister_27</b></div><div>You say that you don't see Nashville as a playoff team but I think this should be the other way around. Preds will likely be closer to a playoff team than Boston. Bruins are going to be without Marchand and Pastrnak to start the season, which in a shortened season makes that loss even bigger. Not to mention that they did nothing to improve their defence. And with the new division, I'm not sure they make it over teams like Philly, Pittsburgh, Washington, Islanders, or the Rangers. I can't see them being buyers at the deadline and even more so I don't see them moving Vaakanainen who they've been high on for years.</div></div>
Marchand will be ready to start the season per Don Sweeney and Pasta isn't that far behind. The Bruins won the President's trophy last season and despite losing Chara and Krug their forward core is pretty strong especially down the middle and they have a great goaltending tandem. In all honesty, I don't see the B's as a true contender but definitely a playoff team. Who knows though, hockey is random and I guess it wouldn't shock me if this was the year the B's finally regress.

20-21 Bruins
I disagree, Gryz is an RFA and if we do manage to keep Krug then he is 100% a Kraken the following season so there would be no point in locking him up long-term so a bridge deal for a year or 2 would only get him up to about 2.5 mill, even if he took his qualifying offer just for a one year deal or if he went to arbitration his deal would only come out to around 2 mill. The Moore for Lowry deal is honestly just there to move Moore’s contract, basically look at it as dumping Moore’s contract and using that extra 2.5 mill for some extra depth (I just went for Lowry since many B’s fans would love him in the black and gold).

Boston goes all in
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gofnut999</b></div><div>Would not trade Bjork for Anderson straight up. Include Backes in that, then maybe.</div></div>
I would think about Bjork for Anderson straight up but def wouldnt send bjork a 2nd and 3rd for Anderson. If we are being realistic though, I doubt Kekalainen would sell low on Anderson considering the year he has had and 6'3 power forwards with speed don't grow on trees. Anderson potted 27 last season and 19 in 63 games played the year before so it isnt out of question that Columbus would ask for a lot hence why I chose to do Bjork, a 2nd, and 3rd. The heinen for kreider trade is based off of the Kevin Hayes deal from last year and Dillion would be an experienced depth defenseman.
