Kind of in a bit of a pickle on that.</div></div>
I agree with this…I’d imagine there would be more of a market for him in off-season. It will be hard to get a lot of retention with the term, but teams will have space over summer.
In-season…maybe 1st or decent prospect with cap coming back.
Off-season…little more without taking a bad contract.

For OP, I really don't know. I know what I think of him, his scoring ability, and his improvement as a 200 ft player over the last 3 years and his advanced stats show that improvement on every source I can find. What I think of him though clearly does not line up with the hockey community in general and beyond that I have no idea what GMs around the league think of him. HIs shot is still clearly respected around the league as he's routinely rated as one of the most threatening shots to face by goaltenders. I would hope he could get the Jackets a good young wing prospect and a 1st, but who knows what he would actually return in a trade.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Big_Al</b></div><div>It's not that serious man. PLD fits the identity of what Hughes and Gorton want for the team. It's not often you have a skilled, big, young center who you KNOW wants to play for your team. If they could snag him you obviously should. My gripe with acquiring him would come down to the contract. Anything above 7 I would say to stay away. As far as "can we stop with X trades". No, they will never stop so long as there are rumors of alternatives and no other moves cancelling the possibility of it happening are made. Not worth getting frustrated over others fake trades on a website made for people who obviously aren't the real GM of your favorite team lol.</div></div>
They got the winger they needed and they got the big center they needed, if dach doesn't work out by the time he's 23 PLD will be a free agent and can come for 'free'

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Big_Al</b></div><div>Habs definitely are in an interesting position. It really will come down to whether or not Price retires this offseason. 10 mil off the books before the FA period will make the world's difference. The continuation of that uncertainty will prevent Hughes from really making any large moves this offseason though. Hopefully we get answers soon! (my previous comment did not load so I basically retyped lol my b)</div></div>
Habs rebuild is off to a great start with Wright. 👍

As for Hronek, I don't believe Yzerman is actively shopping him. But like Zadina, I wouldn't be surprised if he's traded at some point. Seider quickly took over the #1 Defenseman role and Hronek seemed lost last season.
He's overrated by some Red Wings fans but he's underrated too. He's somewhat of an enigma. Some games he's very good. Other games he's very bad. But overall he's still a top 4 Defenseman and Yzerman isn't going to just give him away for nothing.
His value is all over the place really. No matter what I say it is 100 people will disagree.</div></div>
At least this guy didn't get crazy like one I saw with you and a few others that I read this morning lol

I could see Yzerman taking calls on him, like every gm should do about every player in my opinion, but I don't think he's being shopped unless he has other deals in place, like possibly a Petry trade.
I've made deals like Hronek to Dallas to replace Klingberg for Stankoven and a couple of seconds in return and that seemed to be good with most of them. I also added Petry to Detroit but only paid a third and Habs fans weren't to happy but really he's older and has big cap hit. Also Habs are actually in a difficult cap situation right now although some fans seem to not realize it.

That is probably the minimum CHI would take for Strome. If things come down to the wire, and they really want to move him, I guess I'd be ok with it. Better than letting him walk. But I think he is worth a substantial amount more than that and would probably better serve CHI on the roster and/or maybe raising his value for a TDL trade.

I have not seen Detroit fans trading away Hronek. If there are some they are likely ridiculous AGMs and not from rationale people. I've made a few Hronek trades myself but that's only to either get a nhl ready centre or good prospect that will fill that hole in the future. Hronek is very valuable to Detroit since we have no one to fill that hole left by him. Hronek is an offensive guy that has some deficiencies in his own end but he is still quite young and has room to improve. If I remember correctly he was Detroit's leading scorer two seasons ago. On terms of your trade proposed it would likely have the second going the other way just based on age, contract and potential. That said Petry doesn't fit our timeline, would he be a nice piece for sure if the price was right, but likely he goes to a different team that values him more. It makes more sense to play the younger players we have now.
Also good on you for not overreacting to the Detroit fans ripping on you. We see dozens of these a day and Habs fans usually get absolutely ridiculous in response, so much respect to you for that.

I assume they draft Wright and try to ice a competitive team and not rebuild so petry would be good for that

I doubt Yzerman trades him solely for picks, He'll be dealt in a bigger package for a 2C or top 4 LD possibly along with out pieces.

If Price Retires
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Big_Al</b></div><div>I completely agree about Perron in terms of time-frame. I just find Suzuki and Caufield DEFINITELY need an upgrade for their wing and Perron fits that mold to me. Given his previous interest in the team before signing with St. Louis last time around, I wouldn't be surprised to see an offer thrown at him as a cheaper option to fill in the gaps. As far as Petry goes I have no idea at this point where they stand with him. The presser he gave gives me the impression he wants to stay but obviously we don't really know where he or management stands. All I know is that Letang is the exact type of puck-moving defensemen they need and is the only player of that caliber in UFA for the next 3-4 years that I find Montreal may have a reasonable shot at signing. Those types of players completely change your team. Having a Letang on our powerplay this year most likely would have won us many more games. If you really want guys like Caufield to really thrive on the PP, you need that point quarterback.</div></div>
No I completely agree with you on both Parron and Letang. All I was saying is that IF Carey retires (I don't think he will though, I think he takes next season to gage his knee and see how that goes first) but if he does then we may as well not chase either of them since we won't be in playoff contention. If he doesn't retire then sure let's go after both of them and see who we can trade away.

Center Depth and an Offfensive D
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RaZZe</b></div><div>Two okay prospects (almost no team would slot either of them in their top3 prospects), an expected late first and a second. Other offers on this site alone have included packages like Boldy&Greenway&1st, Denisenko&Samoskevich&1st, and Debrusk&Vaakanainen&1st
His price (with extension in place) is at least an A-level prospect, another good asset, and a first-rounder. And no cap dumbs.</div></div>
There's no way any team can bring Hertle in without sending a contract to San Jose. Unless it's Buffalo or Ottawa, both of which aren't giving up thier first for him. May not be a cap dump but definitely going to be a player that's paid worth more then his worth
