Theres probably 7-10 forwards in the draft that are better than suggarud so they wouldnt have any interest.

Off season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ggha777</b></div><div>I don’t like trading Newhook but Necas is an upgrade</div></div>
I would rather newhook.
They scored at the same pace this year and newhook scored at a higher pace than necas did when he was newhooks age.
Newhook actually plays centre instead of the "oh ya he totaly plays centre even thpugh he never does despite the team desperately needing a 2c" necas.
Finally newhook has term at 2.9 million for 3 more years after this one. Wherever necas ends up hes probably making double that because witht he one off season he had last year his arb case will probably be in the 6+ range.

The habs went through this with Danault a few years ago. Theres a ceiling of what people will pay a defensive centre who isnt particularly productive.
Hes a good player but to pay him 6+ long term is a lot. Combine that with a full nmc. Its not a good contract
Hes being paid as a 1st line forward.

Hes making 8.5 million played a good chunk of the season with fiala and got good pp time. Sometimes there isnt a excuse

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Robinho3799</b></div><div>No chance in this world, that LA is going to retain a total of $17,500,000 over 7 years for dumping PLD. They better give him the chance for a full season to play with to solid wingers (this season he mainly played with Anderson-Dolan and Laferriere). Anderson-Dolan, sorry to say, was not really NHL level and Laferriere did not have a bad season, but his first NHL year. So it's a tough line to start to play with in your first year with a new team.
Of course PLD performed well under expactations, but this needs to be considered. If PLD can play a full season with a guy like Arvidsson and another solid winger, I am sure his numbers will look different next year, even when he centers the 3rd line.
Kings shoud have also no interest in the package, especially not in Davorak and Primeau. I find it interesting that you don't believe in Primeau. How then could he improve a contending team?
Also: You would offer Cam Talbot §3,500,000 for two years? I mean he's great this season (and gladly healthy) but don't forget that he's turning 38 before the next season starts.</div></div>
He only played 125 mins with JAD thats like 10-12 games.

would it be interesting
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Db1899</b></div><div>Lee is one of the best high danger scoring chance creators in the league and is still a good two way forward. He’s roughly a 5 mill dollar player being paid 7 mill. Armia is a 1.5 mill-2 mill dollar player being paid 3.4 mill.</div></div>
So then your saying gallagher isnt underpaid then. Because everything you claimed about Lee is the same for gallagher.
And armia outside the PP has 2 more goals than lee so that is absolute garbage that lee is a 5 million and armia is 1.5-2 million. Hes scoring goals 5 on 5 at a higher rate than anyone on the islanders

The habs dpnt add anything and the islanders add their 1st (or more if they make it to the conference fonals and the pick moves back)
Why would the habs add to a deal for a 7 million mid 30s guy whos below a .5 ppg.
Given contract the vast majority of teams would take armia

Mailloux is 4th in ahl rookie scoring.....as a defenceman. Big right handed. Its not hard to argue him being at worst a top 20 pick in a redraft.
That + another first for a player making 8.7 million with term whos hit 60 points once in the last 7 years and is a defensive and injury libaility.
If anything until laine comes back and proves hes not the shell of a player he displayed this season hes also a massive negative.

Definitely not at 2. I would say that once you get past celebrini, levshunov, and demidov it is pretty wide open though.
By the time 9 rolls around i cpuld see him being gone. Dickson, lindstrom by 9 are definitely gone but that still leaves 3 picks. I think especially once teams start zeroing in after the draft order is set he will move up.

Its a bad deal. Since jan 20th he has fewer points than sean monahan has with the habs (joke being that we traded monahan 4 games later lol)
Holtz at this point is quickly losing what value he had. People will whine about icetime as an excuse but 6 points in 36 games (.16 ppg)isnt NHL calibre.
Ffs pezzetta has a .21 ppg this year and he plays less than 8 mins a game and kills penalties on occassion.
To lose the guy they want for a guy who at best becomes a shelter 3W (which we dont have room for) isnt worth it
