Obviously this trade is based on Bertuzzi being able to play games in Canada. Plus, that should be changed by the time the season roles around. But agreed I think Toronto and Calgary say no. Although, Calgary need to get rid of Monahan to pay the rest of the guys

JT For Timo
I don't think either team ever does this, but I think it's a harder no from Van than SJ.
From Van's perspective: Trading away Miller to most other markets, considering the starting price has been set since February, means a young roster player, a prospect with good potential and a 1st rounder, and it sounds like there will be a bidding war at the draft for Miller. You're only getting one of those pieces in Meier, and you're giving up draft capital to do it. Very few teams trade a near 99 point player with centre capability and a 2nd rounder for anything, let alone a more expensive, less consistent winger only 3 years younger that's also on an expiring contract. I like Meier as a player, he's a new age power forward, but this deal is a non starter.
From SJ's perspective: Meier is one of the few younger, high quality pieces on the roster that can transition a rebuilt roster and be a leader once contracts like Couture, Burns, Vlasic and Karlsson come off the books. You don't give that up to get older with where the franchise is at, even if it's acquiring a player like Miller. Plus, if stat trends are anything to be considered, it's going to be much more expensive to extend Miller than Meier, and if Miller falls off around 32-35 but he gets the 6-8 year contract he wants, SJ finds themselves in the same situation they are now, too much money committed to a window that's been slammed shut.

Debrincat to LA
LA just picked up Fiala (a smallish forward) from MIN so I dont think they would Offer this trade. If they wanted another smallish winger they could get Konecny from Philly who would be less expensive and the trade package would be close to this. Philly would ask for Turcotte, Clarke and another player or 1st round pick/2nd round pick depending on who's in the deal. I am not comparing TK vs the Cat just in terms of size and CAP.

SJ needs to build higher walls so that they don't get pillaged like this...

Why would San Jose give up a ppg 25 yo, a likely lottery 1st and a 2nd for Beauvillier and a 2nd? So you’re saying Meier and a high 1st equals beauvillier? That’s an awful return. I wouldn’t trade Meier for beauvillier 1 for 1, not even close.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BlackhawksforLife</b></div><div>Do you think they would do Robertson for Pasta straight up?</div></div>
Probably not as Robertson is 3 years younger and is still a RFA and has put a comparable stat line to Pastrnak in his first full year.

I wouldn't if I were them. Pasta is obviously way more accomplished, but he's already showing some wear and tear. IF DAL can sign Robertson to an 7x7, I'd do that over paying Pasta on a 9x6.
And BOS definitely wouldn't move Swayman in a deal, and DAL has no need with Oettinger hitting the big time
