He wasn’t protected in the expansion draft? That’s what you’re going with? And so games played last year at the end of the season don’t count? So tell me why Bednar when there is an injury regularly slides him into the top 6? What do you think bottom 6 forwards do?

Who cares about a 3rd goalie, but go ahead think the Avs do something beyond a 6th rd pick, because if you have the bad luck of losing your top 2 goalies you’re not winning anything. You trying to justify it is hilarious.

<strong>Go back to rooting for MTL because nobody outside of there thinks Chiarot yields a 1st.</strong></div></div>

You might find this hard to believe, but when you take a #4-5 defenseman like Chiarot, put him on a terrible team, and play him way too many minutes (23:19), there's a good chance he's going to struggle.

Considering Colorado exposed Compher in favor of Jost and O'Connor, yeah, I'm just going to go out on a limb and say he's not held in the highest regard.

Compher usually slides in the top-6 because Bednar's other choices are usually Jost and O'Connor. It always works out so well too; Compher was great in the Vegas series last year.

Colorado almost beat Dallas with Hutchinson, an AHLer, in net. You keep saying it doesn't matter, but Francouz just missed a year and a half with various lower body injuries.

I know you have a love affair with Colorado's 4th round pick, and why shouldn't you? They've obviously had a lot of success drafting in the 4th round, just look at... umm... does Mironov count? How about Geesten? Brad Malone has played a solid 199 career games! Maybe they'll hit on the next Tom Gilbert, it's been 20 years, they're overdue!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15a</b></div><div>Murray has been scratched multiple times, but he is still better than Chiarot. Chiarot SUCKS. I mean sucks. Can’t skate, can’t pass but he can cross check. Watch the guy play, he sucks. </div></div>

Last time I checked, Montreal went to the cup finals last year playing Chiarot over 25 minutes per night. Was he elevated by Shea Weber? Hell yes. But he still logged huge minutes on a team that had success.

Murray has now been healthy scratched four of the last six games. Jared Bednar has literally looked at his line-up card and said to himself "Kurtis MacDermid gives us the best chance to win" four times out of the last six. Murray will be lucky to get a 1-year deal this summer; he's probably going to sign a PTO.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15a</b></div><div>Multiple years of being bad? When was that? The fact you think Chiarot is worth a first and Compher is a cap dump I would reevaluate how you view hockey players. Compher is a versatile middle 6 guy that can play center and wing can play special teams and up in a pinch. Like literally would love to know how you came to the determination that guy who has produced at a 30pt rate his whole career is a cap dump.</div></div>

The fact that you think Chiarot won't return a 1st round pick shows how out of touch with reality you are. Nick Foligno, Kyle Palmieri, and David Savard returned 1st rounders last year; all were old (30+), pending UFA's, and having bad seasons on bad teams.

Compher is a cap dump because he's paid way more ($3.5) than he's worth. Why do you think he wasn't protected in the expansion draft? Yeah, he has 17 points in 38 games. 11 of those points came in the first 15 games, meaning he's on another monumentally long cold streak (read: he's bad). It reminds me of last year when he finished with 10 goals and 18 points in 48 games. He had four goals the last three games of the year, including a hattrick in a meaningless game against the Kings. In other words, he had a terrible season that was partially upgraded to mediocre thanks to a three game outburst.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15a</b></div><div>Because Halak is the difference in a cup. You my friend are hilarious.</div></div>

Halak has won a playoff series in recent memory (2020). Guess how many playoff series Annunen and Miska have won? And if you think it won't come to that, let me refresh your memory about the 2018 (Hammond) and 2020 (Hutchinson) post-seasons. Fortunately, Kuemper and Francouz are both extremely durable... oh wait.
