Buffalo isn't gonna retain 4M on Eichel for 6 years.
You're not even using the cap space.</div></div>
NYR is saving cap for next year with ziba and fox needing bigger contracts this is known as their last year is this year.

No chance NYR does this. Eichel doesnt make sense for NYR unless he has 2.5-3m Retained even then his price is way to high for his injuries and his cap hit. NYR wont be moving kakko or laf. Both have way too much potential. NYR should be looking at dvorak atm or monahan.

With all of eichels injuries it easily is. You don't know what type of player he will be returning from this surgery, not to mention this hasn't been done in the nhl level don't know the ramifications it can have on them. Dvorak is a defensive player and has fantastic all around stats perfect for a second liner with an amazing contact of 4.5 for 4 years. We risk losing ziba for eichel not worth it.

No from NYR at this point. Echiel has serious health issues and with buffalo delaying stuff no need to overpay when they are in a position of weakness. We should be looking at dvorak for cap reasons as well as health.

i think you're going to be disappointed with the results of eichels trade. As a NYR i am not even interested in eichel anymore with so many injury complications and his high cost. He isn't worth it considering his career could take a significant turn of events. Im in favor of dvorak now. Buffalo doesn't have a lot of people interested in him anymore meaning whatever offers you get, they likely wont increase or yield what you want. Just look at the big picture not just your teams scope on this incident.

Not to mention other players seeing this approach will make Buffalo an awful destination for free agents and have them be an even more avoided team than they already are.

Right they are in control but in no means are they not under pressure. Sabres will continue to be a tire fire, and this latest news keeps adding to it. Having an asset that wants out and yeilds a decent return currently is better moved now than held onto and not even playing because buffalo won't let him get the surgery and he won't play without it. Management will just take the L and be out 70M and whatever assets he would've yielded in a trade.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MJCrv</b></div><div>So if his value is down, why would trade him when his value is lowest? This return doesn’t help Buffalo. You don’t give away a superstar. Ever. You hold on to him and let him play if you have to. Prove he’s healthy and then try again. Your approach is completely wrong. You’ve given in and therefore, lost the trade. Remember, you own an elite center in his prime with 5 yrs remaining and literally do not have to trade him. Don’t let them flip the script on you. The Sabres are under little to no pressure to trade him. It’s Eichel’s camp that should be nervous, not Buffalo. They can always bring him back, whether it’s “healthy” for locker room or not doesn’t matter. 90% of the team won’t be around in 2 years anyway.</div></div>
He wont play until he receives his surgery which buffalo wont allow. How can you "play" him without him being healthy and proving his value. The longer buffalo holds out the less teams are interested and most of them already backed out after trades/FA. Buffalo claims they are under no pressure but everyone has already come to the conclusion that Buffalo is under extreme pressure to the point i wouldn't be surprised if eichel leaves for the khl if something isnt done. They are not giving him away but they will not capitalize on his value because it will be perpetually stuck at its lowest for some time.

With the recent reports and how many teams are out on eichel. Adams has lost most if not all his leverage. This deal does seem a bit light as this is really b+ prospect and a B, with 1st and a 2nd. Henrique is a cap dump. But buffalo screwed themselves holding this long and saying eichel is doing good and wont likely need surgery. But the news yesterday really finished off buffalos waiting game.

NYR Offseason plan based off rumors
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aastorino1993</b></div><div>Rangers have plenty of center depth but not NHL ready depth and that is the current issue, so a Dvorak would be a better trade where they are also possibly looking for not only a potential back-up goalie, but a goalie that can run with it and become a starter in GEO. There would have to be other pieces there, but Dvorak would make a great 2C and help out that depth the Rangers have not had in while.</div></div>
I also am thinking dvorak and monahan are nyr best options currently for 2nd line. Eichel because its fun for hype trades but for what NYR have monahhan and dvorak makes the most sense cap sense wise.

Kakko had the 2nd highest defensive metrics for all forwards in the league while playing on the 3rd line. Expecting him to produce coming from the SHL is insane. Giergensons didn't either have good metrics or numbers that's why he is expendable and wasn't a top 3 pic in recent years as kakko only just finished his 2nd season with Covid being known to hurt younger players more than the vets.

As a rangers fan i dont think that offer is bad. Quite reasonable but releastically i doubt buffalo deals with Montreal when they already are having issues with NYR. Due to rivalry/conference. But fair offer.

i misinterpreted your earlier message. I am basing the deal off of buch's to STL. Ottawa's 2nd will likely be 32-44 and tierney would be a good 3rd replacement for a year at least. Unless NYR had their eyes on another center. But I think something along these lines its realistic.

NYR pass. Eichel has had too many injuries and kakko/LAF are untouchable young players and for good reason. You would be looking at best with Geo, Schnieder 1st and krav, or instead of Schneider chytil.

I think if Buffalo expect schnieder chytil and jones would be removed from the package. Eichel is a great player but with how small the market is for him currently and nyr being the only team willing to offer 4 big pieces that would be the trade as suggested.

Honestly, this deal is quite fair for both parties maybe retaining a little bit on monahan about 500-750 so nyr can attempt to squeeze in another player elsewhere in their lineup. As a NYR fan I like him for the 2nd line but drury is very adamant on keeping schnieder and linqvist. All in all I like it.

Is it? Kemper received a top 4 and a 1st on an expiring contract at age 31 and Georgiev is a starter currently at age 24 and has a lot of room to grow. He has already stated he hasn't asked for a trade and wants to stay. Its laughable that you suggested a trade without a 1st included and NYR will keep him with 0 problems. Youre free to sign a goalie in FA if any are left.
