Post Draft
Solid draft analysis my friend. Couldn't agree more about McGroarty, reminds me of a potential Mark Stone. Love this kids vibe and cool to see him be truly excited about getting drafted by Winnipeg. Lambert could be one of the biggest steals in this draft and I'm shocked no one took a flyer on him before 30.
Edmonton trade makes too much sense for both sides. I'd do it without the pick even.

PLD for Kakko anyone
So you’re saying PLD can only be traded for large Finnish wingers who went second overall?

Okay. You're crazy if you think Karlsson is waiving for Winnipeg or getting stuck with his contract is a good idea.:)

Because he’s French Canadian he’s going to be linked to Montreal no matter what but it doesn’t seem like the right fit</div></div>
If you get a chance to get a player like PLD you have to try, wright may be back in junior next year, and a centre can always play wing, wings always can’t play centre, having depth there is a good thing. And that would mean dvorak would be on the way out

Hellebuyck
With the 23 first being top 10 protected and Blackwood only being a backup at best, there isn't enough incentive for Winnipeg.

I think you're one of the few Jets fans that still feels the Jets are going to contend. Love the optimism. The one hope I held out for was the potential new coach, and he opted for time off instead.

I don’t think 2nd overall is in play. My only reservation with Hellebuyck isn’t performance-related, it’s that he only has two years in contract.

3 way trade idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boggsauce</b></div><div>Okay what about Boston instead? A contender looking for a great 2C. Boston could send a first to Van instead of the 2 2nds, and probably Carlo would have to go the Jets way</div></div>
I don’t know what it is, but I think whoever new coach is, his first call and meeting is making peace with scheifele, and convincing him the best thing for his career and chevys career and new coaches longevity is too keep scheifele in 1c or have to wait on lucious and perfetti, which makes a lot of interesting moves this summer. Kind of defeats the add of anyone with out a few years of team control.

U probably need to work in a fourth team that Seattle possibly retains on scheifele and gets a package for scheifele. Not sure scheifele window and Seattle window matches up. Interesting idea though, was thinking something similar with Arizona and a Arizona retained scheifele ends up on a contender in the east.

Agreed. VAN needs more for Boeser. Idea is interesting though. Seattle probably flips scheifele retained to a contender for a big haul.

This is an intriguing Trade…
I don’t know if Philly really wants to push coots, Hayes, and Laughton back down to 2-4, and I kinda feel depending on the health of Ellis one team will fleece the other, but it just makes sense lol

A Hockey Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tsyls</b></div><div>Like I said in the other thread, Schmidt is the one to move. Dillon will be needed next year, move Stanley and Schmidt. We need the size and grit on the backend, Stanley hasn’t been good enough to keep around imo. Only 2 years ago our backend got ran into the ground by Calgary. It’s still an issue.
I know jets are flush with LHD, but move Schmidt and Stanley before Dillon.</div></div>
Okay gotcha, I'm on the move everyone but Pionk train but I hear ya, this defense is still too small for my liking as well and I have no idea how we're supposed to integrate little Ville into it with already so many 6' or smaller dmen.
It's part of the reason I really want to see Kovacevic get in the lineup, he's 6'3", Gawanke is a bit bigger then Morrissey and Pionk, really hope both those guys get a look soon.

You're very right about the coach's kid and I've been saying it for years with a lot of pushback from Adam Lowry kool-aid drinkers, you're just going nowhere with such an offensively challenged 3C.
I like Boyd, have thought for awhile he'd be a good low cost signing or acquisition but idk if I'd give a 3rd considering where the Jets are at, think getting Dzingel from the Yotes for like a 5th or later round pick would be alright though. Jets could use some speed and he's put up some okay numbers before.

A Hockey Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tsyls</b></div><div>Wtf are we doing trading the one part of our blue line that has any grit? Didn’t we learn from the playoffs that you need players like Dillon to win? Stanley hasn’t been good. The jets need to retool, move expiring pieces out. Not trade parts of their blue line that are crucial. I thought we realized with Dillon out how valuable he was. Man I feel like I’m on a jets fan island with the last 4 ACGMs I’ve seen. Trading Dillon makes 0 sense.</div></div>
Cause he might have some value, Jets are flush with LHD and they aren't making the playoffs and Samberg is seen as a Dillon replacement. Like is Dillon going to be crucial next year? I like him but if they could move him for close to what they gave for him I'd consider it.
About the only piece of the Jets blue line that I see as crucial is Pionk.
