(CHI/LAK) - 2019 5th round pick for Kubalik
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BostonBeat97</b></div><div>He is the leagues leading scorer over in europe and has played with kahun back in junior. If Chicago signs him they may get another late bloomer with ties to other players on the team. Not saying it could be another panarin but another solid grab by Chicago nonetheless.</div></div>
He's played in the Czech and Swiss League. Both are tier 3 leagues at best. Panarin at 22 was destroying the 2nd best league in the world. They are on a completely different skill level.

5th round pick for a 7th round pick that is 23 and has yet to play a Pro game on North-American Ice. Not bad LA

(ANA/VAN) - Schenn for Del Zotto
MDZ has been an underachiever for years but he does bring some much needed offensive upside to the table. Given that VAN retained part of his salary, I see this trade as a win for ANA...but we'll see what happens. ANA is clearly in desperation mode.

i think when they picked up Jack Dougherty a little bit ago writing was on the wall for the older RHD. depth D never hurt a team and didnt cost much so not bad for Dallas

Vegas Golden Knights signed Alex Tuch (7 Years / $4,750,000 AAV)
Just a year or two ago it would have been unthinkable for a player with the track record of Tuch - who has been promising but certainly hasn’t established himself as a star, tho could be there one day - to get a Long-Term deal off of his ELC like this.
It’s almost senseless saying if this is a “good” or “bad” signing as it doesn’t even start til next season, and it’s based on him becoming a player that is NOT yet. In that sense it’s frought with risk for the GK’s. Conversely, if he comes close to being a star and can produce at a 2nd line rate (or even better) for the full duration of this contract then this is a fantastic deal. GMGM must be feeling lucky - or had a good night on the Strip.
This will set a precedent and we could be seeing the start of a trend wherein 21/22 year old middle-6 players sign LTCs (instead of Bridge deals) of their ELCs moving forward. Previously that was reserved for the best of the best. And then the best, and the close to best. Now it could be a free for all. And eventually teams are gonna guess wrong and regret these decisions. This one, it’ll probably be good, but no guarantee. Tuch just doesn’t have the track record yet.

(ANA / TBL) - Future Considerations for Hults
There was a time where I thought Hults still had the ability to contribute in the NHL one day. Guess that's not the case anymore.
Now TB can give him a fresh start, while ANA has the contract spots to let Lundestrom and Comtois stay. ANA wins in the short run. They could lose in the long run if Hults becomes something decent, or they could win in the long run if keeping Lundestrom and Comtois proves beneficial for their development.
Wow that's a huge analysis for such a minor trade...

Chicago Blackhawks signed Mackenzie Entwistle (3 Years / $894,167 AAV)
I'm going to say yes because it's not a no. He's been decent. I don't think he'll be a top 6 forward, but I could see him being a role player.

(TOR / DAL) - 2019 7th round pick for Carrick
Carrick has a better chance of providing value than a 7th so Dallas wins , but in the end if you have a young guy who isn't going to get to play, I think you need to trade them out just to give them a fair chance. Funny thing is that Carrick had to battle Polak for 3rd pairing ice time over the last two years, gets a new contract and traded to a new team so he can now battle Polak for 3rd pairing ice time in a warmer climate.

Vegas Golden Knights signed Shea Theodore (7 Years / $5,200,000 AAV)
Decent signing, ton of offensive upside.
I am a little concerned about him defensively though. he looked completely exposed vs Washington in the SCF.
he is a little overpaid right now, but if he can sure up his defensive responsibilities and continue to grow this could be a steal of a contract the last 3-4 years

Winnipeg Jets signed Joshua Morrissey (2 Years / $3,150,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>Great contract. This sets the bar for Nurse and Theodore IMO.</div></div>
The Oilers and Golden Knights are the big winners today when this news broke. I have a feeling that Nurse was holding out for at least $5M AAV. Theodore probably isn't that far behind. Nurse and Morrissey had almost identical offensive numbers last season. Theodore's numbers were a little better, but he got a lot more PP time than either Nurse or Morrissey.
