<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Db1899</b></div><div>Hart trophy : the player adjudged to be the most valuable to his team. There is a strong argument that Tkachuk is more valuable to the panthers than any other player is to their team.
108 points in 78 games, leading the league in 5v5 production. The panthers play like a superteam when Tkachuk is on the ice , and they are below average when he’s off the ice. Can’t say the same about many other Hart Candidates.</div></div>
The Hart is always interesting because for example if you look at McDavid, the argument could be made that Edmonton is still a great team without him on the roster. On the flip side you could say that maybe none of Edmonton's other players would be having as good of seasons without McDavid.
McDavid, Tkachuk, MacKinnon/Rantanen are the only real candidates IMO. I think a nomination or an argument could be made for Jack Hughes and Jason Robertson
I also think it's worth mentioning this --> Although they won't get nominated, there are a few players that have been instrumental to a teams success or "exaggerated success" in the case of Nashville or New York. Whether it's because of key injuries or flat out poor play from the rest of the team, I think Chandler Stephenson, Brock Nelson/Ilya Sorokin and Juuse Saros deserve some recognition for their outstanding play this season.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Steven_Stamkos</b></div><div>Calling all playoff teams!!!</div></div>
Devils
1. Momentum: The Devils worst games are when they get hung up on a bad call or fold if their goalie lets in soft goal. Their best hockey plays through these things. Especially when they can maintain edge on speed / transition. On both offense and defense, if Devils are playing with pace through all zones, they are nearly impossible to beat. They don’t have the size up front to pound dmen. They have to wear them down with movement.
2. Contributions from secondary guys - The scoring cannot all come from Nico, Jack, Jesper and Dougie. They need some secondary guys to step up (Tatar, Palat, Mercer, Severson, and BMW line)
3. Response to the inevitable run on Hughes: it’s the playoffs and our best player is probably 160 lbs soaking wet. In most games, teams will take their shots at him. But in 7-game series, they’ll be trying to end his season. Protect the player, but don’t get dragged down by an event we know will happen.
And the usual things
- Hot goaltending
- Good special teams
- Stars step up

As a 5m rental JT would've had great value yes.
But if you're saying that JT with an 8x8 extension that hasn't kicked in yet has overall positive value then you were indeed right to be called a mad man (just like Hextall, Alvin and Rutherford).

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Brian2016</b></div><div>I always thought Farabee would be the Flyers breakout star. Maybe it's Frosty the Goal Man after all.</div></div>
Farabee ends up being better imo, he's younger and still has the potential. He was snakebitten for most of this year, lots of bad luck, injuries and some inconsistent play mixed in. His development should get back on track next year if he continues to play like he has as of late.
BUT I've always been very high on Frost, He's very fun to watch when he's on his game, some forechecking, has the abilty to go end to end with his hands and vision, and although he's not the fastest but he's very strategic with his feet. Only major gripes are consistencys which he seems to have found the last 30+ games or so, and he occasionally will cough the puck up in bad areas which 1) is just a tradeoff for having a player of his style and 2) he's still young and can learn more about situational hockey.
