So much potential wasted
CBJ had many years of poor management under Davidson and their previous GM. Gonna take time (and luck) to unravel the mess they left behind.

This reminds me of Edmonton before McDavid. Tons of top draft talent, but not coming together in the right way. I think Fantilli is the right guy to build around, but you need more vets in the top 6 who do not take nights off.
Consider a trade for a player like Travis Konecny in the offseason (provided he is willing to sign an extension), and get Laine off your team even if you have to dump him.

Keep Mikheyev unless you can get a clear upgrade. Otherwise Lindholm is probably gone. Cant pay a 3C on our team or a complementary winger $7M+

2024 1st + Holtz

While that's true, it would be crazy to give out long term to guys who would be in severe decline at high $ when SJ's beginning to be competitive again. They should be doing 1-3 year contracts at 1.5-1.75x their market value for UFA's like these. Get a couple vets like Henrique or Tanev (or specifically ones who might want a quick payday and dont care about a cup rn) on a 6,7m year deal for a year or two.

I would like Domi as a Leaf but not 4.5m. Roy isn't signing for that. Don't sign Gio, Roy, Brodie and Miller on defence. That's 9m (by your post) and sign two NHL Dman, more along the lines Tanev and DeMelo

Quick path to ruin the development of your young players. Thrun, Gushchin, Shakir not getting spots? putting Tatar OVER Eklund. Demoting Granlund to the third line?
I just don't understand any of this. I'm all for going after a couple high impact Free agents, but only for short term deals and not if their in the way of developing players who SHOULD be in the NHL. Pesce and Turbo are the only to FAs that the Sharks should consider here. And Cooch may be LTIRetired

My reasoning on Dillon was incase Zadorov asked for like 5 or wants term where hopefully you could get Dillon on an Ian Cole style 1 year deal

Off season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruceBanner</b></div><div>I could even see thi for the trade:
Mikeheyev, Silovs, Lekkerimaki and 2025 2nd.
Imagine
Brady - Miller - Boeser
Hoggy - Pettey - pewpew/ ??
Plus Quinn and Brady are tight.</div></div>
It's precisely the fact that Quinn and Brady are tight that this even gets discussed. I feel like people overvalue Brady Tkachuk, he's not remotely close to being as good as his brother, people need to understand that. He's a 1st line Power Winger who will get you 35 goals and 80 points per season, not the 40 and 100 his brother gets. Feels like the best comp would be Mark Stone for a Trade, A+ prospect (Branstrom was at the time) and some other minor pieces, add to that given that Brady is younger and has term left on his deal. Step 1 would be to pay someone to take Mikheyevso we don't need to send any money back to Ottawa, then my offer would be Raty, Silovs, Bains and 2 1sts. No A+ prospect in the deal but 3 guys who all have 90%+ chances of having lengthy NHL careers including a future star goalie (something Ottawa NEEDS) and 2 1sts seems fair to me. Don't forget that as part of this deal OTT frees up over $8M in Cap Space which is worth a 1st alone. Idk if OTT would accept but idk what else to add, I'm not trading Lekkerimaki, if they really want him I guess they could have Podz... Imagine this Top 6 Next Season
Tkachuk-Miller-Boeser
Hoggy-Petey-Lekkerimaki
Cup worthy Top 6 there.

It's gonna come down to who they value more, Reinhart or Montour, their 3rd best forward or 2nd best Dman, also keep in mind Montour will cost roughly half of what Reinhart will. At the end of the day they're still contenders without Reinhart which is why I think he'll leave, unless they can get rid of Bobrovsky that is...

Yeah, I honestly don’t think he has as much negative value as some people think honestly. He’s on pace for 31 points and 17 goals in 13:50 a night. He’d be good for a team like the penguins he’s just not quite the skater we need

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruceBanner</b></div><div>That's a big overpay for guentzal as a rental given the quality, age and experience of the prospects.
I would suspect that is what Pittsburgh is looking for. So maybe not the 1st, or drop the best prospect. I Think Lindholm trade value.</div></div>
Canucks also traded Kuz as part of that deal at his lowest value but I guess the Flames liked him enough.
I'd say Guentzel's value is higher than Lindholm.
Maybe Korczak comes off or tight conditions on the 2nd.
I'd say the fit in Vegas is also ridiculous. Playoffs would be a serious problem out West if Stone came back.

I think much more than that. Calgary would be taking on nearly $15m in salary between Campbell and Ceci, I don't know the going rate for cap dumps but that has to be at least a couple 1st rounders.

How good
Somewhat top heavy. Not a big fan of their 2nd line for the collective cap hits. Defense should be strong. Goaltending I wouldn't expect great, but at least average. Playoffs for sure, but can see some deeper teams overwhelming them.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruceBanner</b></div><div>Juuls is so underrated, he is a young prime Schenn type play. Hits, blocks, blocks lanes, has a good pass, defensively minded. He would allow Toews to open up offensively. Byram is still finding his defensive legs. I did think about Byram over Fabbro, but again the better defensive play and the fact that Fabbro is a natural righty.</div></div>
I agree he's underrated but I think he needs some more games under his belt first. I'm one of his biggest fans and Ik he's really gonna become something for us
