Lines with Poitras at Juniors

They need someone to fill the top6 C role and Coyle is the guy by default. Geekie is an option although a short-term one (lesser than Coyle).
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tupty</b></div><div>Interesting thought, he could get an extended run. But where would you put him? And who comes out?</div></div>
Geekie back to the 4th line replacing one of 94/19/62 and Merkulov can play C/LW on the 3rd line or on the LW of Zacha-Pastrnak.

1- rather have Lysell career than Monahan rental
2 - Monahan does not crack our center lineup, he’d play wing, plenty of better options for that, including calling up Lysell
3 - Monahan has little value other than PP this year, his 5x5 production is terrible.
4- would not pay much more than 3rd/Merkulov, if that
5- not interested in him at all
6 - see #1

What Id like to see
Personally, I would put Debrusk with Zacha and Pasta in hopes of getting him going, put Poitras between Marchand next to Marchand to see if that sparks Poitras' play, and don't break up the Coyle/JVR/Freddy line thats been very good.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GM_SZK</b></div><div>No blow up here. Hanifin is a hometown kid and legit top pairing. Zacha is great but Lindholm is a better fit overall.</div></div>
Hanifin’s skill set is too redundant with both McAvoy and Lindholm. He is either diminished or Lindholm would be. Nothing personal, he paying a premium for a player that you can’t fully utilize is a mistake when it comes to roster building Don Sweeney understands roster construction and while I think Hanifin and Lindholm are similar caliber players … I don’t think there is a fit here.
While I think Lindholm is the more proven player, I’m pretty comfortable that Zacha at his price point offers more flexibility and with the way he’s playing, I’m not sure the difference now is as big as you’d suggest.
I could see a Lindholm deal. That’s really the only one and it will be using picks, prospects, and salary filler.
I’m personally of the opinion that a Duclair or Vrana might be the better add

Lindholm to Washington
I made a lengthy explanation on one of your posts yesterday about how the Bruins likely wouldn't trade Poitras for just about anything due to his potential, his long term low cost, and the Bruins needs. And yet you think they will trade both him and their best defensive prospect along with a 1st round pick for an expiring Noah Hanafin? Is the plan to ignore comments on this thread too and make an even more ridiculous post tomorrow?

Trade Deadline Experiment
The Bruins should not spend any 1st or 2nd round picks this year, period. They should not trade any prospects that project to be in the top 6 unless it is a swap for other prospects that project to be in the top 6. Despite their current record, this is not the year to go all in. Maybe they can make some fringe moves to add depth using picks in the 3rd round or later.

Taking Connor whether you like it or not
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gofnut999</b></div><div>They are not trading Swayman. Regardless.</div></div>
My belief is that no team will offer a package that Boston would take for Swayman.
The team’s identity is great goaltending, forwards who backcheck, and a good defensive structure despite having aggressive defenseman in the offensive zone. It’s a weird combination that’s difficult to secure, but they have it.

not sure Kubalik is the guy I'd target at this point. B's have very little in trade capital and need to make sure if/when they do trade it's for an impact player. or just stand pat and wait for the offseason.

Lindholm to the Bruins
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tupty</b></div><div>Agreed on all of this with a caveat: Zacha could slide back to wing if an elite C was available, or down to 2C in the event of injuries or slumps.
Also if they re-sign Debrusk, he can play either side. So really any top 6 F spot would be fair game, depending on who is available and what the cost is. Due to their flexibility and lack of picks, they may be best served seeking 2RW/2LW either in FA or in a bargain deal.
As for the D, they should only seek low cost and low event steady players. No more multi-year 3m+ guys on the third pair. I do not know enough about Zadorov, but I don't think they should chase Hanafin. They should probably look in-house.</div></div>
TBH if they add a center I see them moving Poitras to wing this year. Would cut down on the pressure and responsibility of playing center. Plus his faceoff % is hovering just above 40%. Certainly could move Zacha to wing, or Coyle, but those two are playing very well where they are.
Novak from Preds would be a great target. Could provide secondary scoring from C or Wing. Cheap contract. Lots of flexibility.

BOS is in the drivers seat.
You call Holland and give him a chance to keep his All Stars (LD/McJ) by offering him a Vezina winner for Hyman (retained $$ by the leaking-OIL)
If he waffles, you wish him luck & hang up; & go on winning...
What is the BOS problem again?

He’s better than skinner and people need to stop minimizing what he’s done. It’s OK to say you wouldn’t give up Nugent Hopkins for him without disparaging a good d corp.
Boston plays a solid defensive game plan, but Ullmark and Swayman are big parts of that success.
