EDM Trade Idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>So why not just trade Krug for a forward? Honestly, while it’s worse value wise, just Krug straight up for puljujarvi is better for the bruins</div></div>
Once Oscar K returned from injury Edm would have too many D, but I suppose they could move someone else if they chose. Krug > pulj though so wouldn't do that straight up

EDM Trade Idea

Awesome</div></div>
Full disclosure, not a huge Krug fan when it comes to 5v5. As great as he is on the PP, I care more about 5v5 playoff hockey as McAvoy and griz emerge. I agree it makes them worse (talent wise) from now up to the trade deadline by removing debrusk and Krug but the truth is with them in a playoff spot today, if this roster isn't capable of maintaining or improving on their position by the trade deadline, the roster is way too far from beating Tampa in the playoffs (likely true) nevermind Western top trans So it gives you options at the deadline, if the team is a strong contender, can trade their own first, etc to improve further. That addition, in addition to Oscar K coming back from injury before playoffs puts them in a very strong position. If not a contender.... More assets for the summer and a slight reduction in salary to go towards RFA this summer.

Move Krug Sign Nylander
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jamiepo</b></div><div>Also that is an offersheet that the leafs may match... if you are going to send a sheet you really need to overpay for the player. I would think 7.5m at minimum to get nylander.... now you are paying close to 1.5m more per season what he is actually worth. In cap era nhl this is just not a winning formula.
Could be really tough next season if Toronto decides to slide Mcavoy a 5 year 7m offersheet...</div></div>
Even if the Leafs match the $7m the damage will have been done with $23m in cap space with a roster of 24 and many to resign including Marner & Matthews. Toronto is in no position to offer Mcavoy $7m. Let's say they do and Boston doesn't match, then they have 25 contracts, $16m in cap space and Marner & Matthews to resign while shipping out their !st, 2nd & 3d. Irrelevant since Mcavoy doesn't sign anything with Toronto without talking to Boston who has more $$ and the option for 8 years. Boston happily matches $7m over 5 years as it is.
RFA offers do not happen in the NHL making this less realistic and more interesting to think of. Make no mistake, Toronto is in no position to be sending out RFA offers and loses those battles with each and every team in the league in the near future.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Who do the Bruins jettsion next year? Even if this scenario you gave, the Bruins are over the cap with bonuses. And next year McAvoy, Carlo, Donato need new contracts.</div></div>
Next year will be McAvoy, Carlo, Donato and potentially Chara. As it stands, $13.8m in space. As I stated in the description; trade Krecji who will have a modified trade clause. Buyout if you have to ($4.67m in savings). Assuming a trade, that's $21m in space to resign that group. That is plenty for that group assuming the cap doesn't increase again next year. Bridge deals for Donato and Carlo will help as well.

Ridiculousness
Bruins pass. Assuming Krug = Klefbom (I think most see Krug as > Klefbom) then Bjork for a 3d isn't close on value.

Cup Run & Setup
Propeller09 Thank you for the feedback, you brought up some great points. I think with the recent signing of Urho Vaak that Zboril could go in the deal (maybe take the place of Chel or Kopp and in addition add a guaranteed 2nd round pick from Boston for 2019 that increases to a first round pick if the Bruins make it to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Lucic @ $3m is the only way this deal works. At $3m very tolerable even with the length. Complete agreement.
I did struggle with leaving Bjork off the main roster. Cannot put him on the 4th line, not to mention I love that 4th line as it is, but it gets tight near the top. Reading your comment did give me the idea of what if they make the trade without signing Kovalchuk and simply slotted Bjork into the second line RW spot? That becomes very appealing especially considering they would then be sitting with $10.5m in cap space.
Thank you for the feedback!
