The most important game for the next 50 years
50 years??? Gee, you make it sound as heart wrenching as President Truman's decision to use the atomic bomb in 1945.

Mercer is so overrated on this website. Too slow, too soft, zero defense and muffin of a shot. I'd look elsewhere.

I'd rather dress a 7th d-men than play Greer. Greer over his last 20 games had all of 2 points, while racking up 50 penalties minutes.

Id only trade Ullmark for a 1st, that center depth sucks too. Cap also gonna be 83.5 fyi so u have another 2.5 to work with. Also Greer should play every day

potential playoff lineup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bruinsforlife</b></div><div>No prob but yeah otherwise I’d agree, on the d I wonder if clifton will play more than Grz, they are both decent but Grz in playoff isn’t that good because he tend to lack the ability to take the hit and make the play</div></div>
could see them rotate guys depending on the opponent. both gryz and cliffton have value but clifton seems to take the physicalty better. but gryz shoulder should be in better shape this year so i could see monty making some adjustments as the rounds go on.

Losing but being a menace to society
i actually don't mind that ARI trade, would prefer leaving hall-krech-pasta and then playing zacha or crouse with bergy and marchy.
crouse gives us that toughness we want out of freddy and foligno but with more skill and Hayton gives us a brighter future at C
i think hayton could do well on a third line more defensive role with crouse and coyle, his draft day comparisons were that of bergy and given krech and bergy retire after this season he would then be given minutes with 2 of pasta/hall/lysell/marchy allowing him to refine his offensive game more.
the 1st hurts to give up but that is the price you pay when acquiring a potential 60 point 2way center
i think you could get a better return for smith especially if we hold out to the TD, history shows player of his caliber can return atleast a 2nd. Once mid-season hits and teams start to get hurt LTIR starts to become more active and though fans say now they wouldn't pay a 2nd for smith come TD when they have some guys who will be hurt for a bit smith will become a valuable asset

if calgary starts a rebuild
Bruins will still be missing another top6 C. Marchand will be 35, Hall 31. This will most likely just extend the timeline to remaining good instead of a being a true Cup contender. Lindholm at 29yo just doesn't work since they will need to rebuild as soon as Bergeron retires.

Trades for building a really good team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bruinsforlife</b></div><div>Siegenthaler is good, but I feel New Jersey won’t want to pay him, and even if he played well last season, New Jersey have a lot of young lhd coming bhall and hughes that could play and siegenthaler feel the off man out, maybe the value isn’t it but still</div></div>
Siegenthaler was among the top 5 in defensive impacts last year, his defensive results at 5v5 were unmatched. That’s an elite level season and is part of the long term core in Jersey by now.
Him and Luke Hughes are the Devils long term 1st and 2nd pairing defensemen. Bahl could maybe be the third pair guy, he’d be moved way ahead of Siegenthaler in any case.

It was a self fulfilling prophecy of sorts. I know a little bit about the situation. The kid was sad. Probably started with covid isolation. He was sad so he played poorly. Playing poorly hurt his spirits, and one affected the other until he got into the spiral of healthy scratches. It’s an incredibly mental game, particularly at the NHL level. Very tough to break out of that spiral. Why it took so long for Cassidy to try moving him up the lineup to get something out of him is beyond me, and thats why i don’t think cassidy is a very good coach.

Mangiapane will get at least 5.5 and Copp at least 5 . I think Mangiapane could be closer to 6 even. And Copp will be between Coleman and Hyman

I feel like this is a very interesting off season for Boston — I think the could stay in the hunt as they normally are, a small retool for a year or could rebuild if Bergeron is done
I don’t think any of the three options is better than the other though
They have the goalie tandem that seems to love eachother, a solid d core and I think they look decent up front but money could get tricky. I think the Fischer trade and signing is a real good depth one for this team here
