Roster Overview
Haha you literally posted almost the exact AGM I just did. I'm pretty much in agreement in how I think it pans out, but I think Friedman gets the nod of Shea for right now.

Pens 3rd line Targets
I think florida could be the perfect trade partner for us to fix the 3rd line. If they decide to sell, I would try to see in Sam Bennett and Duclair can be had for a Package that would include Ty Smith or POJ along with the "cap dumps"

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CHUG</b></div><div>He was just a bonus signing if you could afford him for the year until a guy like Poulin, O'Connor or Puustinen are ready to fill a spot. Money in 2024 needs to be saved if you are going to resign Miller, unless you can find a way to offload Carter so I only signed him for the 1 year. Could maybe bring him back if you could find a cheaper 3rd pair LHD too.</div></div>
I gotcha. He was signed for 2 years so that's why I was confused.
Maybe move Rutta to LD with Bear and Ruhwedel moves up to play with POJ. Would save 1.2mil

I believe it is supposed to be 83.5. I think I read that somewhere

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CHUG</b></div><div>It could be made a second probably, Zucker has also been a 20 goal scorer or on a 20 goal, 40+ point pace in 6 of the last 7 seasons so he's still a productive player that would likely be in Anaheim's top 6. Just had one season filled with injuries that held him back. It's only one year on the deal anyway so they don't have to deal with the slightly overpriced contract after this season.</div></div>
Fine. Make it your 2023 second and that's probably a deal.

What would Eberle cost
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CHUG</b></div><div>That's the point of this, trying to hone in on his value. If this is an overpay, that's not an issue. Take out Hallander and/or POJ or the 1st then. Or look to get some retention on Eberle's contract to make it better value. With talent around him he is still a good top 6 player who has shown he performs at playoff time.</div></div>
I would say Kappy, a top 6(mid 6 at worst), 25 years old, RFA would be more attractive to Seattle than Eberle. So Kappy and a mid a round pick. Maybe a 2nd at best.

We'll just wait a year and get him without losing two first round picks and two good young players then. No one would give up that package for Gaudreau.

Who sits next
The Pens are such a well oiled machine man.
They have a «next man up» mentality that works amazingly.
Every time it seems they're dead (when they have a s**ton of injuries, namely) players step up in key roles and play well

Should the Pens upgrade
they already have a 3C, Blueger. That line is getting 15 minutes a night and fans are just going to have to deal with that.
If they add it's to the 4th line and they won't spend big.

I guess u read that article this morning as well..lol.
I agree, I hope so too. I’m not holding my breath though. I actually really like the Janko signing as a 3rd line Center. My only problem is if Sid or Malkin get hurt. Jankowski is a big two-way center. Not a play-making or elite scoring Center. Not a 1st or 2nd line Center. We would have to put McCann there if either got hurt. And they want McCann on the wing. And I agree. He’s more of just a scorer. A really good shot. Not a play-maker. He’s a scorer.

Cup Champs for sure
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CHUG</b></div><div>Because he would be perfect fit to fill the Guentzel hole and play with Crosby for following seasons if Guentzel sticks with Malkin and he would be affordable. I know its unlikely but the point of this post is to show how good the Penguins could be with only a couple of not entirely unrealistic moves.</div></div>
I’m kinda hoping Kahun cements his place on the 2nd line, but I wouldn’t mind overpaying for Rakell. When Guentzel comes back I’d keep both on the 1st line.
Guentzel-Crosby-Rakell
Kahun-Malkin-Rust
Simon-McCann-Hornqvist
ZAR-Blueger-Tanev
Lafferty
Dumo-Letang
Johnson-Marino
Petterson-Schultz
Riikola-Ruhwedel
Jarry
Murray
That’s one hell of a lineup while being able to trade chucky and jugs for picks and cap space. The only thing that makes trading Addison risky is that it makes Ruhwedel 3rd pair RD next year unless we can snag a more competent one on the cheap.

This taylor hall trade is horrible. Pittsburgh won’t trade half of the team for a players that clearly won’t resign there after. Plus value wise it’s way too much for a rental.

Just messing around
Good signings and stuff, this is some of my feedback:
1. I would give Petterson like 2 less years on his term
2. I think McCann depending on how his season goes could be possibly signed for less given he is an RFA but not a bad signing
3. I honestly think Murray will not get paid less than 7.5, he has everything but a vezina to show for it
4. I think you may have to add a bit on the JJ dump, nothing big, maybe a minor prospect?
5. I think there is no reason to ship desmith to dallas, you could easily trade either him or Jarry to a team like the leafs who needs legit backup goalie for a better return
6. I think Janmark is unnecessary cap, when you resign Lafferty who has shows to be a good 4th liner and you can put Tanev on the 3rd instead.
7. Does Dadonov really come that cheap? I dont know too much about him

Not enough for Hall. The Stone trade came in light (especially considering the extension). As good as Caufield is, a rival GM would offer more
