I'd consider that, but I'd rather TVR instead of Jensen.

First of all, Athrin is almost always wrong lol.
Second, this is indeed a pretty good offer, especially because the 2025 1st could very well be top 10.

Batherson isn't worth close to that. Holy hell. You can get a much better player with that package. Batherson is meh, he just happens to light up the Caps for some reason. His analytics are garbage as well. Hard pass.

I would think with the moves the avs have already done, dowd isn't coming to colorado.
Lindgren is an option but not for richie, MacFarlane said yesterday he will be important to the team but they want him to succeed in the nhl so he has to "cook" in the minors

Ah ok good call. Skip the retention then, NYR will just send down Rempe or Edstrom to fit Patches. Or pay a 7th to a broker to retain, they really only need like $75k of retention.

he's progressing fine in the AHL but is probably a year or so away from NHL time and they'd probably move him over Liljegren pretty readily

As a Jets fan, I feel compelled to type: #FreeVille
That said, I don't see this trade happening as Cheveldayoff is really wedded to his prospects. Bowness said that if Heinola didn't get injured he was going to be in the opening night lineup, so the coach likes him. I guess they will be treating him as backup depth once rosters limits are lifted.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Capitalfail67</b></div><div>Damn is Dell having a good year? Its been years since i heard that name</div></div>
He's playing decently well for the Reign. The Kings signed him to an AHL contract to backup Portillo after Copley got injured and the Kings recalled Rittich.
They don't want to rush Portillo to the NHL before he's ready, so this gives the Kings a 3rd goaltender option in case one of Talbot or Rittich gets injured.

sure, but liljegren right now is a good number 4 or 2nd pairing guy, even if Jensen is a bit better a one for one swap just means that the Leafs still need to add another defender of quality. I'm not saying Jensen wouldnt be a good add, just that they need Liljegren AND Jensen in a scenario like this

News just broke a few minutes ago that the Kings just signed Aaron Dell to a contract for the remainder of the season (he was playing for the Reign on a AHL contract), so that makes any other goaltender acquisition this season unlikely.

At this point I am fine moving Heinola. Do I think he can play right now and be impactful? Yes, 100%. But Bowness obviously doesn't see it. I say capitalize on the value now.
As for TVR... He is getting up there in age but as a bottom pair D at only 1.5M, I am in.

Blues aren't trading Buch to the Leafs unless they offer up Knies. They're not going to do that so not good fit. If he's traded, believe will be Edmonton, Vegas, or Carolina.

Dowd = 1st
Lindgren = 2nd or 1st, depending on goalie market
Mantha = 2nd
Edmundson = 3rd
Malenstyn = 2nd (but they’re not moving him)
Taking on Ceci = 2nd
Conservatively, you’re looking at roughly the equivalent of 3 firsts for what you’re asking for here. Broberg, Bourgault, and a first is the bare minimum for all of these pieces combined.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Capitalfail67</b></div><div>Chernyshov is Malkin comparable? the same Malkin that is arguably as good as Ovechkin and top 5 player of his generation ?</div></div>
I don't get exactly what you mean, but all my comparables aren't really based off ceiling. Its more so play style, Chernyshov and Malkin are both power forwards that are basically sandpaper. They use their size rather than feet to get around defenders and have all the offensive tools. For Chernyshov, the consistency and defensive prowess isn't there.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Capitalfail67</b></div><div>ive read this a lot about Connelly being a top talent in this draft hopefully thats true if Capitals select him</div></div>
He really is a top end talent. Off ice concerns are kind of whatever to me. As fans we rarely get as full a picture as GM's do. I would say if your team is comfortable drafting him then you should. He has had two race related controversies, but I am sure that there are plenty of successful NHL players that made racial jokes among friends when they were a teenager.
It's really more about his work ethic and figuring out whether the incidents were meant to be immature jokes or draw greater personality concerns.

Caps - tweaking trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Capitalfail67</b></div><div>i agree. In a perfect world some team gets extremely desperate and needs a bottom 6 defensive center and gives up a 1st for Dowd or we package Dowd + something to get a 1st. imo He's worth a 2nd + mid level prospect. Patch basically decides where he goes and Capitals just have to be happy to get anything for him. Edmundson would be great to just get our pick back we paid for him.
My biggest fear is the think we can contend and they decide to buy</div></div>
I think they gotta sell off a couple pieces but also look at deals similar to what Sandin was last season. Guys like Holtz, Robertson, etc.

yeah I have seen a couple people try and argue getting a first + for Mantha but feel like a second and a late round pick seems juts about right for what he brings to the table
