Montreal at the end of the season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Just_A_Guess</b></div><div>While all of that is possible, you're dealing with "would" "could" and "should". The most likely scenario is that Eddy does not go anywhere this season simply because they see him as a leader and we're trying to develop younger players through a rebuild making him the kind of player we need.</div></div>
Anyway Eddy has a back injury and teams are probably scare to trade a 1st + for him

Seattle gave Giordano the “C” and traded him at the deadline.

I hope the Avs are targeting some of these guys, maybe even in a prospect swap before they hit waivers. Especially guys like Foudy, Anderson-Dolan, and Zetterlund.

I'd be totally shocked if LA put Gabe Vilardi on waivers.

Waivers options
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>F50marco</b></div><div>I think the only position the Habs may take someone is RHD and even then there ain't much there to take. Maybe Meloche because of the hometown factor but thats about it. These would all be fun guys to pick up but the Habs literally have no extra spots open. They'd be forcing someone else to go on waivers from the team. Kind of pointless.</div></div>
It kinda depends what happens between now and the start of the season.
Looking at the roster as its currently displayed on cap friendly I think its safe to say Schuenamen will be waived he is a veteran callup not a everyday roster guy.
Byron is probably on IR for atleast a few weeks.
So thats gets them to 23 with Slaf on the roster. If he starts in the AHL there is technically a roster spot open.
One other thing I wouldnt put past Hughes is waiving someone like Hoffman or Armia. Nobody is going to take them so if theres something he really wants it.
As far as the guys listed I could see a Fleury reunion, Meloche is a interesting option and finally I could see him taking a swing at Vilardi as he fits the mold of what they have been trying to acquire

Hoffman trade isn't bad but considering how Lou wouldn't even sign him to a PTO at one point doubt this happens. Fair trade tho

The Flyers give up on Ratcliffe and Ginning for a lateral move of 1/yr 7M for 1/yr 5M...JVR will hopefully score a few goals and get moved at the deadline for a 2nd or a 2nd and a 3rd after the Flyers retain half of his salary.

I feel like Bailey for Hoffman on paper isn’t an upgrade for either team, but maybe the Isles benefit from getting a different <em>kind</em> of player? Not sure

Eh, the $500K difference between Bailey and Hoffman's cap hits isn't a big enough deal to make the downgrade in player - it's basically a trade for the sake of making a trade.
I could see Chuck Fletcher making that deal to save the cap space, but that's not saying much. I could see Chuck Fletcher needing to take a week off because he stared directly at the sun for too long, too.

What are would be the ask from your point of view?</div></div>
C isn’t a need really though it would cost a whole lot to pry him out of Anaheim .. more than he is worth for sure
There’s literally no reason to trade him, he was looking like his previous self towards the end of the year so we got to hope Dallas doesn’t mess everything up again next season

Add Kivi to the list of guys I’d like to see with a better coach/system before shipping him off. I feel like this would be one of those sneaky good moves Tampa does that works out well for them because they know how to run proper systems and use their players strengths etc. I think he could be an effective secondary scoring forward if he didn’t have defense defense defense shoved down his throat. I could be wrong

Silfverberg is OK when healthy - sadly he hasn't been for a couple years. Change of scenery could help? Definitely not the craziest proposal I've seen for Hoffman

Kapanen doesnt fill any team needs and if we are putting Drouin out there (a .5+ ppg player) for less than a 3 million cap we can get a better return than that.
The last one is the only one I would entertain.</div></div>
Silfverberg is a good player, maybe another Tatar gem ;)

I know crapping on Drouin is the in thing these days, but that's a pretty lousy return from a non-Colorado team for him.

oilers say no. they dont need hoffman and can find a team willing to trade for barrie without re-crushing their cap situation. I mean if risto can get for a mid 1st the oil can definitely get a 2nd rounder without retaining

Your right Petry will not be in Detroit at least not for that. Wings not trading for a player were they have 2 good players and trading away a center which they need.
