I feel Comtois is the player you need next to Suzuki and Caufield. I just figure the price to acquire him would be much higher.

Ducks very easily decline, selling low on Comtois doesn’t make much sense

I don't think Montreal says no, but Winnipeg certainly does.

Devils would rather keep Blackwood who is much younger and hope for a bounce back

I'd rather have a $5.5Mx1 Drouin than a $3.25Mx4 Lowry. The latter is one of the worst offensive forwards in the league and isn't better than Jake Evans. He's in Joel Armia territory and isn't worth the 2nd round pick alone.

I mean Poehling had more goals/points and plays C at the same age. You get a 3rd and a 5th and add some scoring detph and save cap with the Hoffman/Silverberg swap..
What are would be the ask from your point of view?

A fellow Devils fan posted this trade a while back and felt it was good for both side.

C isn’t a need really though it would cost a whole lot to pry him out of Anaheim .. more than he is worth for sure

There’s literally no reason to trade him, he was looking like his previous self towards the end of the year so we got to hope Dallas doesn’t mess everything up again next season

I'd definitely wouldn't mind him.
