I sincerely hope Nichushkin gets the help he needs and turns things around, but after screwig it up three times I have zero interest in my team taking on that risk at all, even if we're being paid for it.

Not a chance Colorado is getting a return on Nichushkin with how his last two seasons have ended. He will need multiple seasons of being clean before anyone would risk taking him on and even then he may never rehabilitate his reputation.

The Life and Times of Tim
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OrganizedConfusion55</b></div><div>A 1st and our 5th ranked prospect? How much higher is he commanding?</div></div>
Jenner the player: he's a good 2C/great 3C on an amazing deal with term, who brings a lot of valuable qualities (grit, goalscoring, faceoffs, leadership, etc.). If on the market, he'd be a mid-1st, mid-rounder, and a top-3 prospect in an organization IMO. Think 2025 1st, Kulich, and a 2024 3rd.
Jenner the person? The reasons Columbus has to keep Jenner are the same reasons Buffalo has to keep Tuch...except he's also basically our franchise leader in a lot of significant categories (effectively our Crosby). Add on that everyone up through the owner have said he's unavailable (player, GM, and owner, all very publicly) and the offer you'd have to make to make him available/get the conversation started would likely be something like 2024 1st, Savoie, and a 2025 2nd.

It’s alot higher. You weren’t really in the ballpark tbh.

Saw this on bleacher report Possible huby trade
Gaudreau's biggest motivation for where he chose to play seemed to be being close to home so that he could spend more time with his parents and friends. Moving away from the northeast is gonna be a non-starter for him.

I'm hoping more for a blueliner with more experience for the Jackets, but I could see that working out pretty well.

If Laine wants out re-visited
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CertifiedAverage</b></div><div>I'm an optimist when it comes to Laine's value, that's for sure. I assumed a small bidding war, which drove up the price a little bit. Laine's value to the other teams comes from his potential, compared to Nelson, who's more of a known quantity. I based this on a post I saw from an Islanders fan on another forum a while ago where Nelson + Wahlstrom for Laine was proposed. The Jackets have no need for Wahlstrom, so I exchanged him for a 5th, but if he sweetens the deal for the Islanders, then I'm sure the Blue Jackets would take him on in this scenario.
EDIT: Would adding a player like Boqvist to the deal instead of the 2nd be of interest to the Islanders or is the pick of larger value given the state of their prospect pool?</div></div>
I meant Nelson + a 2nd for Laine. Adding Boqvist would probably complicate things even more for the Islanders. They won't be able to even do the Nelson for Laine swap without moving a big contract.

CBJ doesn't do that. You asking way too much. Remove their first this year and Jiricek and we get closer to the real value. And they have no need for Girard.

Chinakhov's last year has been the exact polar opposite of that of a "young guy who's struggled". Easy, immediate "no" from the Jackets.

Would rather trade provorov at the trade deadline and try to get a first for him. Half retained for a second is probably worst case for him at the deadline

It is a high risk high reward scenario. Laine, if healthy, is the best player in the deal. Boqvist is also very good but injuries have hampered his development. I just think that Orlov kind of kills the deal bc his term. Just not a fit.

OK, Cowan is really good; so is Marner. But expecting a future 1C in Fantilli, a 1D in Jiriceck, and a 4th overall pick is just ludicrous unless it's McDavid/Matthews/Makar headed to CBJ

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CertifiedAverage</b></div><div>That's fine and dandy for Columbus. It seems this site is on agreement from both sides that a Husso for Merzlikins is agreeable which is kinda shocking for how everyone wants to trade trash for others treasures here.

The worst Marner-to-CBJ trade I’ve seen.
Told yall 1000x now. Don’t want him, at least not for what 99.9% of what you guys are asking for.

This seems fair lol. None of that is on the table for cbj to move for anything barring a young locked up top line center.
Edit:
None of those pieces are on the table for a marner trade even in a 1-1.

Robertson and Liljegren are players that the Jackets have less than zero interest in, and Boone's unavailability has been repeatedly affirmed by everyone associated wiht CBJ from the most casual fans all the way up to ownership and back. It is difficult to overstate the degree to which that proposal is a miserable, hopeless failure.
And I imagine Stephenson is going to get much better offers than that.

Jackets decline. They need top 6 forwards. They already have 3 bottom 6 centers in kuraly, sillinger, and Voronkov
