Essentially a 6 week contract. Gives the Kings a 3rd string option in case one of Talbot or Rittich gets injured. Very unlikely he'll ever see the NHL roster.

Good for him, was sad when he got claimed before he played in TOR. Capable third stringer for league min is never a bad thing

The Ofseason They should of have done
Lots wrong here, Vladar had a worse save percentage than Copley, Tablot, and Rittich last season. The Kings want an experienced goalie in net, you can't have your two starters combine for ~100 games. The center depth here is much worse than what the Kings currently have, and at wing the Kings have 3 30+ goal scorers on 3 lines (Kempe, Fiala, Arvidsson). Durzi and Clarke might be an offensive duo but both don't really play great in their own zone, you need to have a stay-at-home with one of those guys, last season Roy had to babysit Durzi, who had the lowest +/- on the team at -12.
Bringing back dowd would be nice and all but Lizotte actually can ice the third line and has chemistry with a lot of Kings, it's a lateral move at best.
Byfield playing on the top-line is better for his progression than playing as a shutdown center.
The trade worked for LA because they have Iafallo's role covered by Lewis and Moore. They have better players than Kupari. Durzi was basically Jack Johnson 2.0. What this came down to is LA better with PLD or Vilardi, and because PLD is a center who is less injury prone I think I can understand the moves.

-20 re-draft
SOOO much I don't agree with here. Mercer at 7 is crazy low. Him and Sanderson are interchangeable at 2/3. I'd have Byfield way over Laf. Byfield is at least useful when he's not producing
And from the Sharks perspective, how did Ozzy go up one lol. He's not even the best Sharks draft pick in this draft. Bordeleau, Gushchin, and Robins are all better than him and really all three could be in this first round of a re-draft. Also Muhkamadullin is going to surprise a lot of people when he comes into the league. He's unreal. Could be a top 5-10 in future re-drafts imo

Los Angeles Kings signed Erik Portillo (2 Years / $875,000 AAV)
Glad for LA because they didn't waste a 3rd by acquiring him and glad that Sabres could get something for him. Portillo has all the raw skills to be a really solid backup or good starter in the NHL. He's huge and his movement is very good. I hope he turns out for LA.

This is a really, really good deal that will only continue to get better as the cap rises. Locking down a genuinely great top 4 LD at this price for this long is a tidy piece of work from Rob Blake. Happy for LA and Mikey!

Canadiens Bergevin connection
This "Bergevin connection" is a tired, over-used connection. He might advise Blake in some capacity, but he is NOT the Kings GM. Also, he works for the Kings now. Why would he do anything to help the Habs? And why would Blake let him?
And finally, as has been pointed out, this is horrendous from LA's perspective. There isn't a piece in that trade that I'd give a 1st for, let alone Spence. And while Peterson isn't necessarily positive value, the Kings --at absolute worst-case-- can wait a year and buy him out in the summer of 2024 for extremely minimal cap implications. His contract is very buyout friendly. I wouldn't pay a 3rd round pick to dump him, much less a 1st and a good prospect.
