Good signing. He's played really well behind a bad team and his numbers should show better as the team improves in front of him.
The cap hit is relatively reasonable, but the term is more important. We didn't over commit in money or term for a goaltender expected to carry the bulk of the load over that period.
If he ends up as the backup, it's still a manageable contract and we have a support if we run any younger goaltender (Primeau) during those years.
Have to think we will actively shop Allen or demote/trade Primeau once injuries start clearing up.
One slot is decided, so do you keep the vet around for another year as backup or give Primeau more games to hopefully develop?
