Early May 2 Rounds
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>You do realize Vlasic just completed his rookie season and ranks top 3 in the entire NHL in the defensive zone while playing top line minutes against the competitions most difficult assignments. Dickinson is not displacing Vlasic in other words. Then behind Vlasic is Korchinski, who was the youngest defenseman in the entire league this year and 2022 #7 pick overall. Behind that, Hawks have 4 prospects/young players who are fighting it out for the 3rd line.
So in other words, no way will the hawks draft another LHD guy.</div></div>
Maybe, maybe not. The one thing I can absolutely, positively, 100% promise you is this: if they like Dickinson as a player more than they like Levshunov, they're not going to not take him because he's left handed instead of right handed

Purely circumstantial. I have Catton at 5th on my personal rankings but a lot of the guys behind him are close and I think team need + the dreaded size factor are gonna lead to him falling a lot more than he should

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SlickWilly</b></div><div>If the Hawks take Dickinson at 2, Davidson should be fired. I get it if he's the best guy on the board at 4 if Levshunov and Demidov are gone. But adding another LD with a premium asset just seems like a redundant waste</div></div>
I don't really agree with that, Demidov is better but with fairly limited experience and multiple DY injuries, and you could make a pretty fair case that Dickinson > Levshunov (I don't necessarily agree, but I wouldn't call that take outrageous). Given next years draft is forward heavy, if CHI likes a defenseman with that top pick I don't think that's a bad selection at all

I think Demidov slips to MTL, I truly believe the 3 teams right in front of them (at least in this scenario) would all go D. Demidov is the clear 2nd BPA in this draft, but that hasn't stopped teams from taking other guys in the past

Would Matheson be of interest to Philly? He'd certainly be an upgrade on their D.</div></div>
Not even a little bit. Like, the only package I could see MTL offer that wouldn't make Briere or Hughes immediately slam the phone down would probably be something along the lines of Xhekaj +++

If Farabee is traded, it'll be to try and get a young top-6 Center or a significant upgrade and LW or D. I don't think Montreal has a package that would make sense for him

I respect the amount of work you put into this.
Having said that, as a Flyers fan this would be an absolute mega-nightmare fuel outcome (with the exception being the Pinto trade)

Oilers won't do that. Even if they know they're going to lose him in 2025 they shouldn't throw away a year where they could genuinely win the Stanley Cup unless someone blows them out of the water with an absurd offer

Curious as to why you think that, I know his omission from the U18 was noteworthy, but from a DY performance/position/style perspective he strikes me as closer to a top-15 candidate than a 2nd round faller

It seems more likely than not that Johansen is going to either LTIR or just be bought out, if Philly were to move a 1st I definitely don't see it being for cap flexibility and depth moves. Agree with a lot of the writeups, Hage seems incredibly low here though

Farabee Dillon and Perron
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>Apparently they may be listening to offers on frost, Farabee and Laughton</div></div>
Laughton I could just see them moving on from for any fair market value of picks. Something like a 2nd rounder + worse cap dump coming back. With him I think it's just about opening a roster spot for a kid and adding something of value back
Frost I don't think they move unless they have a sure-thing Center replacement coming back in some capacity.
Farabee is the tricky one, I think if they move him it'll be for a bigger hockey trade or at the minimum a package with a significant C or D prospect coming back. I really can't imagine Philly pulling the plug on him for a mid pick in a draft where they already have a solid amount of draft Capital. In a Washington trade, I have to imagine they'd be asking for McMichael back

We have enough goalies to be fine in the future, with one being an absolute beast now in Ersson.</div></div>

Flyers cannot do this unless they move both of Walker and Seeler, and even then I don't think they can afford to move Frost before knowing they have another Center coming in sooner rather than later

If Philly had additional moves lined up that involved moving one of Andrae or York I could maybe see him being a fit. I like Behrens but there's just no way the Flyers are going to plan to have a blueline with 4 sub-6 feet tall defenders on it

For example, do you think that the Montreal Canadiens would give you Nick Suzuki for that package? (Compare their 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons (Zegras' first and second and Suzuki's third and fourth) -- they were essentially identical.)</div></div>
I get why Anaheim fans take issue with a lot of Zegras packages on here, but this should be a slam-dunk no questions asked "yes" from the Ducks. Both of these guys have been excellent in their rookie season, with Foerster in particular having immense upside and playing a style that would thrive on what the Ducks are trying to build (very strong defensively, big and great on the forecheck/cycle, borderline elite shot etc). Not to mention getting a 1st rounder out of the whole ordeal.
And even though I like Zegras a ton, Suzuki is the better player right now
