<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>matt59</b></div><div>Pass for the sharks because you'll never see a team like the sharks who is clicking on all cylinders, move a starting top 4 defenseman who's spent their whole career with the team for a guy who's 100% a rental forward. Buyers almost never move current roster players unless they don't fit their system, or have extreme circumstances. Braun doesn't fit either bill. Sharks don't have the assets to move for Nyquist unless they move Merkley which they shouldn't do unless they have an erik karlsson extension completed.
*value wise it's probably fine for the sharks, but when team chemistry and not messing with a team's mojo and style come into play it's a trade that won't happen.</div></div>
Agree with you 100%. Sharks aren’t trading Braun unless they really have to because of the cap situation this offseason

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TanSor</b></div><div>Agreed. The Wild have no need for Braun. If we trade Coyle we need young quality players or picks. SJS already gave up their 1st and their only quality young players that interest me are Hertl (whom they won't trade) and Labanc (who they would maybe move for a Panarin, Stone, or Duchene but not a Coyle).
I just don't see a great fit between SJS and the Wild as far as trade partners go.</div></div>
Yeah based on your guys feedback and seeing the state of the MIN roster after the trade, you’re probably right that the fit isn’t there

Gregor is top 10 in WHL in scoring. Melker Karlsson is better than entire MIN bottom 6 in almost every metric and can be dangled for a pick next deadline. Braun is a top-4 D man and likewise will be a valuable asset next deadline. All that plus a 4th rd pick is junk? Sharks could even retain ~15% of Melker’s contract.

Reasonable Deadline Moves
Interesting Sharks deal but I don't think Doug Wilson goes hunting for a goalie at the deadline this year. Jones has been madly inconsistent this year but his past playoff performances are enough to temper those insecurities. In my opinion, Sharks add either a winger (i.e Nyquist from DET, or Zuccarello from NYR) or a 4C like Glendening.
What you are asking NSH to give up is a lot for Nyquist IMO, too. Look at the Evander Kane trade last year for example. That 1st rd pick SJ gave up was conditional on Kane signing a long-term extension. They also packaged a 2020 4th Rd pick and a C- prospect in Danny O'Regan for a pretty comparable player to Nyquist skill-wise and 2 years younger. The price is going to need to come down on Nyquist for a deal to get done.

Is that Zucc with SJ a 2019 deadline deal? Big fan of the deal though I think the Sharks will push for a draft pick in 2019 rather than 2020.

Trade Deadline NSH CGY WPG
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>lamar1226</b></div><div>Saying "[insert team name] says no" defeats the purpose and fun of this site. Can you explain why they say no? Zucc is worth at the least that much based on his production and experience.</div></div>
Agree that just saying ‘no’ w/o why is dumb but yeah the flames say no. Zucc is not worth a 1st rd pick to begin with. He is a clear rental that will mosy likely resign with NYR in offseason. He will therefore at most command either a 2nd rd pick or a legit 2nd/3rd line player younger than 26 (along with other pick).
See the Evander Kane trade last year. He went for less and was 5 years younger than Zucc/producing higher and was a top-5 pick. Asking this for Zucc is mindless

Panarin and Glendening
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Larkinisking</b></div><div>Arizona's 2019 7th round pick is conditional. Detroit doesn't own it. And Glendening isn't getting moved for any thing less then a 2nd according to Holland.</div></div>
So take the conditional pick out, add in a 2020 6th RD pick and you got a deal. Holland can try and play hard-ball all he wants. Brian Boyle’s deal doesn’t mean 4Cs everywhere are worth 2nd rounders. The Sharks are sending Melker Karlsson, who not only will slot into Detroit’s bottom 6 seamlessly, but will also be the perfect player to dangle at deadline next year with his cheap expiring contract. Taking that into account and Holland could turn Glendening into 3 picks by end of 2019-2020 season and open up cap 1 season earlier. Not to mention, Melker is totally the type of overlooked Swede who could very well find his rhythm in DET

Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rangers300</b></div><div>zucc at the least is worth a A+ prospect, 3rd or 2nd line NHL player, and a first round pick</div></div>
Rangers fans on this site need to step back and realize that Zucc is not worth anything close to this. He’s 31 and a clear rental. Let’s take the Evander Kane trade from BUF to SJ last year. Kane was traded for a conditional 2019 1st, a conditional 2020 4th and a C- prospect in Danny O’Regan. He was 26 and producing at higher rate than Zucc. You don’t give up the package you’re suggesting for a rental player with MAX ~ 50 pt potential at age 31 after a groin injury no less. Come on NY, you can do better.

Why should salary retained on a player that is more than likely to resign with the Rangers in the offseason mean no 3rd? Sharks aren’t giving away LaBanc for just this spring. He’s 8 years younger than Zucc....that’s worth the retention of salary alone.

I take everything back. Give me Zucc (1.75 mil retained) and a 3rd rd pick or Labanc straight up.

Zucc Trade credit to DOTFAM
Respect. Thanks for the shoutout. The draft pick coming back to the Sharks is a good add—can’t give up Labanc in his RFA year for a rental. Though I think Zucc adds good edge/leadership and could easily line up alongside Jumbo on the Sharks 3rd line and absolutely tear it up.
