<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DaHabs</b></div><div>This is the only year he has t looked good in anything g you have mention. And you on obviously haven’t been watching subban lately he hasn’t moved the puck like he did since he left mo treat and he is still the defensive liability he always was he is absolutely. brutal defensevly and always was. Plus he’s 9 million a year. He does t do anything remotely what you speak of anymore barely even used on the power play . Rule one as a Defensemen you must be able to defend. If you can’t do that it doesn’t matter what else you can do</div></div>

I don't get to watch many NJ games as I don't have NHL network. I have to watch games on TSN or Sportsnet or HNIC so I am limited in watching any games broadcasted from outside of Canada. It doesn't change the fact that PK is a better skater and PM than Weber, even a blind man can see that. You say Weber's issues only started this year but they didn't not really. His first year in Montreal (you know the one where the trade was supposed to push us over the top and into the playoffs BUT DIDN'T) he played well. His second year in Montreal was cut short because of a knee injury, same as the 3rd season. So he didn't push us over the top in those 2 either. Last year he played well to start the year but was slowing down and getting worse by the day the league shutdown and if not for the expanded playoff format we wouldn't have been in the playoff, but he did get rested and came back strong in the playoffs but still didn't get us out of the 1st round (excluding qualifying round). This year he has been terrible no matter who his partner is and when they are moved away from him those former partners do much better. Then when he decided to do the honorable thing and finally step aside when he was injured miraculously the entire D and PP starts to play better. These are not coincidences, these are the signs of a player sliding down the slippery slope that is the end of his career. He should have taken himself out of the lineup instead of trying to stay in games injured and hurting the teams chances at a playoff spot. BUT yeah he is a great leader and brings exactly what we need to push us over the top to make the playoffs "where anything can happen". You win the cup through hard work and determination not LUCK, MB really should never have made it past he 3rd season in Montreal let alone be in his 9th. The Subban Weber trade was bad, it was then it is now. It might be just my opinion, but I don't think trading younger more skilled assets for older slower less skilled assets 1 for 1 is ever a good way to "win" a trade
