They’ll say Montreal adds.
The Rangers want a centre prospect because they already have enough wingers. Mysak and Lundkvist could be one-for-one.
I don’t think that Struble is an NHLer, at least not within the plans of the Canadiens.

If somehow we end up with two top-10 picks, one will be spent on Dvorsky/Yager and the other on Cameron Allen.

Cam Hillis played in the ECHL last year.
Price isn’t going to play again.
Guhle is way better than Norlinder.
Bedard is better than every centre we currently have.

If Kent Hughes really believes he needs Dubois, he’ll wait for him to become a free agent. There’s no point in giving up assets when we can wait a year and get him for nothing.

This team has enough vets and good NHL players to be a team that is pushing for a playoff spot till the TDL. It all comes down 1 thing.....injuries. if they get as injured as they were last year, then they'll rival Chicago and Arizona but if they can just get average type healthy lineups throughout the year, they'll be better than you think.</div></div>
You’re right, but I’m just conflicted about how I should want this season to go. Can’t deny the top 10 in the draft looks great and we could use another big piece since this rebuild looks like it’s going the long route. At the same time, I want to see them be competitive.

It’s actually not terrible, and the defence is actually what I’ve expected it to be. Caufield is really a RW.
Here’s how I think it will shake out (before a trade is made):
Dadonov-Suzuki-Caufield
Drouin-Dach-Anderson
Hoffman-Dvorak-Gallagher
Pitlick-Monahan-Evans
Scratched: Armia, Pezzetta
Something has to give on the roster and I doubt that they want to keep Monahan on the 4th line.

PLD also stays at C
If Farrell, Kidney and Mesar aren't on the team in 2023-2024 and nor is Fantilli, then it works out but Matheson also has a spot on this team. Perhaps Edmunston is gone by then.</div></div>
I put those contracts on LTIR instead of doing cap dump trades. Most of them have positive value so I decided to skip that part of creating an ACGM.
About PLD, I know he’s a centre but he can also play LW. It really depends if Fantilli is a true centre or not. But yes they could be switched.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>Since when is the age requirement 27? I swear it was 25 like a week or two when i was looking at it.
Edit: After looking, I'm pretty sure once the details of his contract are finalized and released, capfriendly will update the terms to show that he will at least be a Group 6 UFA. He meets all the requirements. Him being an RFA at the end of that contract makes no sense, unless it is allowed to be negotiated that way for some reason.</div></div>
You’ve missed one important detail: a group 6 UFA is a player who is 25 and has played a minimum of three seasons BUT has played less than 80 games.

Next Offseason
Florida matches. I really like the idea but the money needs to be higher. Bobrovsky is likely not finishing that contract and will go on LTIR like Price, so you'll have to paralyze the Panthers by offering more in the short term.
A Kotkaniemi-style massive overpay offer sheet of an $8402975 for one year would be best, but the compensation (1st, 2nd, 3rd) would be impossible since ARI owns our second round pick from the Christian Dvorak trade.
All this to say, you’re better off making a trade for a young goalie or signing someone like Tristan Jarry in free agency.
Edit: I tried doing a Spencer Knight offer sheet before and the picks sent are still wrong. They’re supposed to be in 2024 because he’s a restricted free agent in 2023.

You said Guhle shouldn’t play a full NHL season but you have Barron over here playing top 4 … and you have Wideman scratch
Matheson-Savard
Eddy-Lundkvist
Harris-Wideman
Schueneman
And I forgot, Armia never been an healthy scratch but you buried him lol</div></div>
I tried sneaking Armia into the minors. Who knows, he missed a lot of time with injuries and covid so a conditioning stint wouldn’t be the worst thing for him.
I thought Barron looked good with Edmundson before being injured but I can accept him being sent to the minors under the same logic as Guhle.
I did kind of just throw the lines together, plus there’s going to be moves with dumping one of the centres or a couple of wingers. I did however have Schueneman on the last ACGM I made.

I wouldn’t mind if Slaf is sent to Laval after a stint with the Tricolore. Having an ELC slide would buy them more time trying to get cap off the books.
Armia could be a waivers candidate too. I’d rather Pezzetta than him.

No way.
There’s no way Montreal considers trading Suzuki, even if it is for Chicago’s first. Even if we get an outright 1C in the 2023 draft (Bedard or Fantilli) with our own pick, Suzuki is signed to a deal that will be good value as it goes on.
Even as a 2C on a contending team, $7.8 million is good.
Nor do I think Chicago would do it either. They’re trying hard to be bad.
