Vegas Series Lineup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>Weren't you the one who brought size into the conversation? Zuke is 5'11" and 201lbs so not a small guy, Toffoli is 6'0" 197 lbs so again not a small guy. Stone is 6'3" 202lbs Patches is 6'2" 215lbs and Stephenson is 6'0" 208lbs so the only guy that has a size advantage is Patches. However Caufield has played against the likes of Lowry, Matthews, Marner, Conner, Ehlers and Nylander and has faired just fine. Any one of those 6 can make you pay for a mistake just as easily as Stone can but still Caufield held his own in those 2 series.</div></div>
The difference is that Stone causes the mistakes. That line dominated MacKinnon and Rantanen, what makes you think they can't handle Suzuki and Caufield? At least putting Armia (who's playing really well) on that line instead of a 20 year old with 19 NHL games will alleviate that issue a bit. Caufield will still be on the PP.
Maybe I'm wrong but I feel like this is an adjustment the Habs will have to make.

You guys are focusing too much on the "small" part of my post. In Vegas, those guys are gonna be up against Pacioretty - Stephenson - Stone. Stone in particular will make you pay for mistakes. Adding some experience and strength to that line will make a difference. Many are over-rating Caufield's impact at this stage in his career.
Anyway, let's see how we feel after game 1.

My Game 3 Lineup
I'm sorry that it's hard to process. You do understand that the Habs get last change, right?
I listed the lines in the order of 5-on-5 icetime. If Danault is on your shutdown line, then at home he's gonna play more than anyone else. He needs wingers that can cause and take advantage of turnovers and also be responsible defensively. You also want to play them physical which Anderson can do.
What 4th line grinders are you referring to on TO? Last game their 4th line had Spezza and Thornton. If anything Evans and Caufield should be able to exploit them.

2 of Caufield's goals were 3-on-3. He's not really much help at this stage. I'm sure he'll get his chance but there's no winger I'd take out for him right now. I look forward to his rookie year next year.

Both would be temporary, a chance to look at these players in real games. Byron's return would definitely change where Suzuki and Evans play. Evans could start in Laval with Peca, Hudon or even Belzile as our 13th forward and Thompson as 4C, that's another option.

Montreal Canadiens signed Artturi Lehkonen (2 Years / $2,400,000 AAV)
I had him at $2.1M AAV for 2 years, so slightly more than expected. Still good though. Either way, if he finds offensive consistency it's a bargain, for now.

Montreal Canadiens signed Joel Armia (2 Years / $2,600,000 AAV)
I had him down for $2.8M AAV for 4 years. $2.6M per is the discount for hitting UFA status sooner. Would have been nice to have him locked up longer. He's pretty steady, he won't hurt you.

This is the scenario where neither Poehling or Suzuki make the team. The other scenarios I will be posting deal with Suzuki and Poehling specifically.

Domi more or less got the job done, but<strong> he doesn't particularly excel at the position</strong>. If he can maintain that level of production with someone else centering him, that would be ideal.</div></div>
How can you say that?!

Hudon's out of the future Plans , if he isnt cut this year by our depth he will be next year re-signing Byron killed any chance he had of a future in MTL .</div></div>
That was the toughest decision I had to make with the lineup, so I could easily rotate it back to:
Lehkonen - Kotkaniemi - Armia
Hudon - Plekanec - Shaw
I don't necessarily agree that Hudon doesn't have a future with the team.

Could just as easily be Peca or Scherbak waived (barring any trades), but someone has to go.
Mete is waiver-exempt and not exactly outplaying Ouellet or Benn right now. Laval might be the best place for him to work on his overall game and gain confidence rather than get stuck in the rotation in Montreal.

Opening Line-up no trades
I more set my lines in terms of chemistry and complimentary skills and then put the lines in order of EV TOI/GP. For instance, Gallagher and Tatar could combine for 50 goals so they deserve quality ice-time, we know Gallagher had success last year playing most of the season with Plekanec, who can match fairly well defensively against top centres.
