(CHI/VGK) - Sikura for Pirri
Pirri gets to continue playing in Chicago after playing most of his games for the Wolves over the past 2 seasons.

(CHI/VGK) - Sikura for Pirri
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stan_Bowman</b></div><div>I am glad Sikura is getting a change of scenery, I think he really needed it. He could blossom into a decent bottom 6 forward. Rip <a href="/users/ChiHawk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@ChiHawk</a>.</div></div>
This had to be a favor to Sikura because Pirri is useless at his age so nothing more then a AHL player.

wouldn't be an offseason if chicago wasn't trading for one of their former players

(NYR/DET) - Staal and 2021 2nd RD pick for future considerations
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bluetomorrow83</b></div><div>Maybe people will stop demanding a first for every dump now.</div></div>
See the Marleau dump from the Leafs costing them a 1st last season. If teams are desperate enough to free up cap space (not necessarily the case for New York here), other teams can very well take advantage of that and demand a higher price than usual.
It’s not exactly off-the-wall to think Staal could’ve costed the Rangers a 1st if they were in any more on a predicament.

Montreal Canadiens signed Jeff Petry (4 Years / $6,250,000 AAV)
Thought he would get 7+ Million regardless of term. Adjusted for cap, he actually took less than his previous contract. Might be a little dicey in the last 2 years but I think it's a good deal.

Little high AAV for that term, but that's the price you have to pay to keep big UFAs. Decent move by Bergevin.
Fun fact: Nobody saw that coming - it wasn't in any rumours

6.25M until he’s 37 this contract extension ToTaLiY doesn’t have the potential to backfire

Congratulations on the strangest AAV I have ever seen. Just round up or down for crying out loud.
Fair deal though. This (and the Fabbri deal) sets the bar for many other teams waiting to sign young middle six forwards.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hedman77</b></div><div>makes zero sense for Minnesota to do this.

Like I get moving on from an aging Staal. But like why not trade for futures and get the cap relief? This makes no sense for them.

(MIN/BUF) - Staal for Johansson
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stan_Bowman</b></div><div>LMFAO I wonder what us Cap Friendly patrons would say if this trade was even suggested in an Buffalo ACGM. I guarantee that it wouldn’t be pretty.
The only reason I can see behind this trade is if <strong>Staal specifically wanted out of Minnesota</strong> and Buffalo was the only team MIN was allowed to trade him to, that actually wanted him.</div></div>
Doesn’t seem like that’s the case:

I believe they're not quite done yet with the moves.
At the very least they covered all the money necessary to re-sign Dunn.
