THE perfect trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dutchies</b></div><div>Yeah, it's the perfect trade for MTL. It's garbage for DAL. You want a pick and a prospect and an expiring contract to dump a contract? First MTL should be paying the pick and prospect. Second Dallas already has a few overpaid under performing forwards. Third Dallas is going to use that cap space a lot more wisely.</div></div>
The fact that you just called Gallagher “dumping a contract” let’s me know that you don’t know your hockey and your opinion means nothing.

If I am not mistaken they have Pavelski coming off the books at 7 mill, Radulov at 6.5 with prettt much only Klingberg to sign probably at an increase of 3 mill.

Obviously Radulov is 35 and sucks now. He is a cap dump. Contract is up after this season. Stars will have money free after this season.

is my friend crazy or is this realistic if petry turns it around
They wouldn’t make that trade and Petry would have to basically go back to being himself which might happen but is unlikely. Even then that isn’t the type of return we will get I don’t think. Petry is 34 so I would expect a 2nd and B prospect in return at this point plus we’ll have to take back a bad contract to make the money work. Only a contending team will want Petry, LA is fresh out of a rebuild, doesn’t make a ton of sense.

Thanks I didn’t notice that, but still stand by the other points. I wouldn’t mind of trading a 1st but not for a winger unless it were in a package for an actual game breaking winger.

Not only that but Rakell for what will likely be a top 5-10 pick? That would be a huge mistake. Not to mention we really don’t need any more wingers, we need centre and D.

Get Girard to Mtl
Im not understanding where you’re coming from. The report is that Colorado wants a top 6 winger in return and they’re moving a D because of Byram. I don’t see how you’re concluding that they would want a D instead of a forward. Not to mention the fact that Drouin is in his prime, Romanov is 21 and still developing. They’re a win now team. If you’re assuming they wouldn’t want Drouin that’s one thing, but they will want a forward not a D.

Thread:
Get Girard to Mtl
According to reports Colorado is looking to move Girard in part because he is a small dman that makes his team worse in the playoffs So knowing that you think teams are going to give them that sort of return? Not likely. Dvorak with a prospect or pick? Sure. But Dvorak and Romanov? Naw they ain’t getting that sort of value back. And Romanov going back in the deal makes little sense anyway for both sides. Habs need more D, they don’t need to swap D and the other reason they are reportedly shopping Girard is because they want to free up that money and have Byram playing excellent for them. So receiving a Dman who will need to be paid soon makes little sense.

I don’t think Hoffman would be their ask. Yeah he’s a great goal scorer, but he’s 32. Drouin makes more sense.

You think so? Let’s talk about Rangers for a second. You think they’re getting a better offer than that? Yeah sorry but you’re in for a surprise then. No way a team is going to give up significant value for a player they know the Rangers are trading (decreases leverage) and a player who has struggled at both the ahl and nhl level. As for Colorado you could be right but that deal fits the mold of what the rumour is Colorado wants in return for Girard.

So they replace Tanev on defense how? I’m not sure why Calgary would make this deal. He’s arguably their best defenseman.

Thread:
Habs need a offensive Dman - Flyers need scoring and have an abundance of Dmen
This deal would more than likely take place in the offseason. I assume Flyers will look to add Cam York to the roster full time next year and will likely sign Yandle again who has played good for them. After adding Ryan Ellis and Risto they have 4 Dmen who will be paid 4.6 - 6.5 mill and that isn’t the best way to spread out your cap space. After trading a haul for Risto I doubt they will want to let him walk, clearly they value him highly (whether they should is debatable). Sanheim has been in trade rumours in the past so maybe now they will move him. Another potential package could include no roster player as to save Philly some cap space since they need to free up 4 mill with Couturiers new contract extension. In that case I would move a 1st, Jordan Harris and Luke Tuch.
