i doubt heidt is ready next year for 2c duty. He just seems like a worse version of rossi too. (im still high on rossi).

Also why would the Habs do this? Don’t you need to guarantee the best possible forward you can get?</div></div>
i dont want this or i wont think they trade back, but im willing to bet whoever we would draft at 2 would be available at 5.

i dont really see a fit for trades bewteen these 2 teams really. Guhle cluld be moved for a foward but not for the ones you want to give.

i just said he is worth more than a third. could be used to move up a.bit

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shaun80</b></div><div>The 1st two trades are jut as bad, I see Montreal ACGMs trading away Harris and Barron for 3rd round picks all the time, so adding a 3rd doesn't move you up 7 or 6 positions in the first round.</div></div>
barron would be worth more than a 3rd thought

so who do you think drops from the elite prospect ranking this year since its not that hard to know?

if you dont want to trade him, you have the rights to not accept those trades.
however if you want to trade brady to upgrade the roster, dont go out there and post ridiculous offers (not saying you are doing that, but i have seens some bad stuff from sens fans).

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jobob77</b></div><div>They are complete opposite players. Helenius is a fast, slighly smaller than average, 2-way, hard-working playmaker. Wood is a big, slow, unidimensional, sniper. The projection that Helenius will fall is as relevant as saying that Levshunov is going to fall. It is based on absolutely nothing.
They have basically nothing in common. A good indicator that a player will go higher than projected is when every fan base from 10-13 want a specific player. It was the case for Reinbacher last year with STL, VAN, etc. It is happening with Helenius with NJ, PHI, MIN. Helenius will not wait long on draft day.</div></div>
i never said they are the same players, im not even comparing them. the only thing im comparing is their rank from a list.
im just saying its not a good argument to say a specific list has him at a position, because its just a list and wont predict the future and showed a exemple.of.last year that that list got wrong.
if it was so easy to predict who falls, draft list would predict it too. but just so its clear im not defending the idea of helenius falling. im just saying someone from the top rank will, it could be him.

Open Discussion on Offseason Moves
i think you nailed it. to be somewhat competitive, this team needs 2 top 6 winger to produce.
But thisis only buying time in my opinion. Unless their prospect becomes superstar, this team is rebuilding in 2 years time at most i feel.

He’s going surely top 10, possibly top 5.</div></div>
Why would you think they are identical?
from what i understand there is about 12 guys in this that are guaranted to go top 10. you do the math.
each year players falls. each year people act like it never happens and they dont learn.

each years playera falls. Elite prospect ranked wood 7 last year and fell to 15. Could also happen to helenius.

the only way that trade would make sense would be if our d prospect showed they are able to play top pair minutes too.

Questions for my fellow Habs fans
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jonh514</b></div><div>I think the defense would improve because:
1) Assume some sophomore defenders get better in their 3rd seasons.
2) Reinhart is good defensively and so are Caufield (people don't realize, but he is) and Slaf. Now you will have a 2nd line who can play a 2-way game.
3) The best defense is a good offense!</div></div>
1) yeah, so lets see how better they get and act qhen they prove they are better
2) its true it would help, but he is just 1 guy. Caufield is ok defensively and its the best you can expect. He is not built for a defensive game and never had this role in hia life. the fact he is ok defensively and not terrible is a blessing
3) the best defense is a.good defense!
