A full line of offer sheets
Sorry.... be logically this trade does nothing for Columbus... we have no reason to move Korpisalo or Merzlinkis at this point. Kerfoot is a good 3rd line center and yes is an upgrade over Nash... that being said Nash is a 4th liner, Jenner, Wennberg, and PLD are 1-3, and sorry to say this, but Kerfoot isn’t much of an upgrade on either of them.
Now for the cap side of things Anderson is 5 mil, Korpisalo is 2.8, that’s a difference of 2.2 mil then adding onto the fact that you want us to retain 50k(I feel like you meant 500k) isn’t a huge impact but it is cap space. Then there’s also true small difference of about a mil (with retention) between Nash and Kerfoot. So that’s about an extra 3.5 on the cap (give or take a little). Columbus just isn’t in a position to add cap with players like PLD, Gavrikov and Anderson still needing to be signed.
All in all this trade doesn’t do much for Columbus besides give us another 3rd line center, a rental goalie and some rather low end draft picks. Not something Columbus seems to be interested in at this point.

It is definitely debatable that this CBJ team is any better than what they have now, but to me the value on the Leafs trade seems fair.</div></div>
Kerfoot is a 3C on a contender. If he was a 2C, then the Avs would have had no need to trade for Kadri. Whether the value is fair or not is besides the point. The assets we're receiving don't align with our targets and organizational goals.

Isles Clearing Cap
Columbus can’t really afford to be taking cap dumps, we need all the cap space we can get and with Dubinsky being LTIR and most of if not all of his contract being insured (meaning we don’t have to pay him much) we really can’t afford Leo unless you’re willing to take cap back.

A trade with Columbus
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ken_holland</b></div><div>I heard Anderson's agent wants 6M so best to cut ties with him. Puljujarvi would be the replacement</div></div>
We already have Bremstrom.... no need to add Puljujarvi unless we can get him for cheap and I doubt that would happen... if Anderson wants 6 mil an offersheet gets us a 1st and a 3rd, he also has arbitration rights this year.

Just listened to <a href="https://tunein.com/podcasts/Edmonton-Oilers/Oilers-NOW-with-Bob-Stauffer-p384592/?topicId=157400952" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">the clip at this link (21:20)</a>, and he makes it sound like they're just kicking the tires to see what he'd cost. Not a whole ton of smoke just yet, and it was because the host directly asked about Pulju that he even mentioned it.

Bjorkstrand
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ajp_18</b></div><div>Columbus just isn’t moving Bjorkstrand, he was the best forward last year in Columbus. It would take such a massive overpay that it wouldn’t be worth it for EDM or anyone else. The price probably starts with RNH for Columbus to consider this. It would be a top line wing for a 2nd line center at that point.</div></div>
Hell, the price probably starts at RNH, with an extension already in place, and a 1st. Then you can probably get GMJK to pick up the phone.

Utterly no chance the Blue Jackets trade Bjorkstrand (our best two-way winger, and our best scoring forward) for the guy we correctly passed on in 2016, a bottom 6 center, and a 4th. Where on EARTH did you hear we wanted Puljujarvi? We need a true top-6 forward, preferably a 2C. And Bjorkstrand is one of the best (non-ELC) bargains in all of hockey at $2.5M.

For the zillionth time on this website, you have to motivate Columbus to trade either of their goalies. Merzlikins is exempt from the Seattle draft, and we can protect Korpisalo by signing Kivlenieks to a cheap two-year deal. If Jarmo is going to trade Korpi, it's only going to be with a clear top-6 talent (and probably a 2C) coming back.

CBJ isn't trading Anderson within the division, and even if they were it'd take a LOT more than that to get him.

Revisiting Retool
CBJ aren't likely to move Anderson in-division, especially not to the Pens, and certainly not for picks that don't come until next year. If we trade him, chances are it's to improve our team sooner than later.

Retool
How is it a retool and not a rebuild if your trading arguably your top 2 players. And then flip it around and trade away your first in this years draft for a rental.... I love the cbj trade for cbj but it feels like this is a mix of 2 different ideas.

The last thing the Jackets would need (or do) would be to give up their all star goaltender on a team friendly contract, and one of their top F prospects (the Jackets have had difficulties scoring) for another Defenceman (they are loaded on Defence at the moment, with at least 10 NHL ready D men and 2 now coming up in Peeke & Berni)

Larsson is injury prone, and you want one of their tandem who is locked in at $2.8M?...
you're not only paying for the quality of the goalie, you're paying for that contract too.</div></div>
Also we've got a ton of D already and don't need another. We're interested in top-6 scoring forwards, particularly a 2C. Anything short of that isn't going to result in Korpisalo's inclusion in a deal. (Or Texier's, for that matter.)

I doubt that Columbus would take that package for one of those players, let alone both. For one thing, the Blue Jackets are pretty good on defense, and for another, their primary need is a #2C.
