Yeah. I imagine someone will still like Risto because people fall in love with the frame and think they can use him well. I just picked Seattle and a matching salary because I knew they aren’t strapped.

I’ve seen posts on here that have been dumping him for space. I’d do the same thing for Pageau too. And would 2 mill in cap (potentially 5 with IR if I’m wrong about him playing) Wilde and a 3rd is really that high?

It would save 2 mill since Seeler would push someone else down. I’d do it for Pageau if that’s more of a cap dump for you. If Atkinson can play (which all signs point to), I think it could be considered. Point taken that it’s not enough in this one though.

Bye Bye Hayes TK Provy TDA
Personally, not following the logic of the moves of this rebuild.
Hayes at 4.5 mill per would have higher value than that.
DeAngelo at 2.5 per would have value too.
Provy doesn’t carry that value right now, even though I actually agree he’s a top pair guy. Priority needs to be getting him a partner that can show that over the next year or year and a half to get that kind of return. Think it’s unreasonable to expect it now, and that’s from someone who values him higher than most. Moving guys when their value is lowest is one of the many reasons why Chuck Fletcher was cheeks.
If TK says he’d resign and be part of the rebuild, not sure why he’d be moved at all. He’s still mid 20s and looks to be coming off a point per career year. I guess if this was the value you have to consider, but they have to pick some pieces to keep too.
Also, why no Risto move? I’d be shopping the 5.1 for 5 years to anyone that shows the slightest interest in saving us that money.

As a Flyers fan, I’d eat Palmieri’s money for two years for some kinda compensation. 2nd doesn’t get it done unless you’re taking some money back IMO.

You guys have a dream pipeline for young defensemen for a trade with us though. What we need desperately. I assumed Boqvist is below Jiricek and Mateychuk at this point. Truthfully I’d do Boqvist for Hayes retained straight up.

We counter with a '24 2nd, and Foudy.</div></div>
You may be right. This post was taking deals that other fans posted. A CBJ fan posted this deal (with a 2nd and Boqvist). That said, Hayes for 3 years at 5 mill or slightly less isn’t just a cap dump, I would expect pretty great value if they’re eating 2.5 mill for 3 years.

Assume TDA for 2.5 for 1 year would move them off Ghost for more money. Doesn’t have to be Carolina though. Think they could find a place for him at that price for better than a 4th tbh.

Not sure what this one would look like but Niemela is the piece Philly should want. Really need to improve RHD and move off TDA annd Risto. And I just don’t see them moving TK, Hart.

Guy would never to take less to play for the team he grew up a fan of. Never happened before in the NHL.
As far as none of this happening, I can see not liking the value of the Montreal trade because I have no idea what Risto’s value is after supposedly being worth a first from multiple teams last year. I personally don’t like him which is why I’m trying to unload his money but the league likes him for some reason.

CONGRATS ON FINDING YOUR 1C
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>krzyk0</b></div><div>The glass isn't always half full. Patrick was given every opportunity to succeed this year, and he did nothing with it. He was on pp2 the whole year and played in the top 9 for half of the year and he scored nine points. He looked completely dis-interested the whole time. If he wasn't a former 2nd overall pick, he would of been sent to the ahl. If he turns into a decent player cool, but it was never going to happen in Philly. He didnt want to be here. Time to move on for both parties. I still like Myers but i don't see him as anything more than a good 2nd pair guy. He struggled all year and showed some serious flaws to his game. Can't bank on him bouncing back. Myers isn't good enough to play on the top pair and Provorov isn't good enough to carry him. We needed a top pair guy and we got that in Ellis. Gotta give to get.</div></div>
Did he look disinterested or like he hadn’t played NHL hockey in almost two years? He was slow and passive. Watched him flash in his first two years, especially when he replaced Simmons on PP1. Point is you don’t give up on that draft pedigree. Took Coots 5 ish years. Took Schenn a while too. Centers usually take a little longer.
It’s just not smart to give up on a 22 year old kid and a top 4 Dman for a guy that has maybe 3 great but not elite years. Just my opinion.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>flyersarephilly</b></div><div>Patrick may take a step forward this season immediately with who he's playing with but it not like his first two seasons he played with very talented players but still never seemed to take that step. With Myers I think he has all the physical attributes to be a top for defender but he'll never be a true top pair guy like ellis is he just doesn't think the game well enough. There were plenty of times where myers would pinch even if it was the wrong play and it would pay off but the times he did and it didn't go his way it ended up in the back of the net. I'm sure he finds his way in Nashville but you've got to take a swing if you want to compete Ellis is exactly what the team needs no way is it a bad move right now and I don't think it ever will be</div></div>
It’s a win now move, and I don’t even know if they’re in a window to realistically have a shot to compete. Ellis has maybe a couple years before that contract starts aging like milk.
As far as the guys we traded, You can argue Patrick played with talented players, but he has never played with shoot first guys to the level of Stone and Patches. He’s probably going to play net front on their PP1 too. You’ll see immediate 50+ points. Myers is going to develop in the NHL defenseman academy that is Nashville next to Josi.
Hopefully they can move out salary and supplement more because they now need another top 4 dman and a scorer or two and enough cap space to resign Allison, Farabee, Coots and G next year. Gonna be hard.

Been saying all along, the Flyers don’t evaluate talent well, and that’s coming from a Flyers fan. The two pieces that were moved for Ellis are now paired with Josi and centering Stone and Patches. Patrick’s never played with talent that has a shoot first mentality. Phillys gonna regret this one.

Let me be clear… You’ve actually valued him higher than a lot of other people on this site so props for that. The biggest flaw in the valuations of him is that Philly can just keep him and hope he finds his game from Juniors too. They have 2 more years of control.
