<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMBL</b></div><div>Yeah, i wonder if he would keep Winnipeg off his NLT since they virtually don't need him, unless something happens to Helleybuyck, but it's possible that he's too scared to take chances. I think Toronto is a team that can go for him, and he might not mind but he could probably bet on BOS not trading him in division perhaps unless it's to BUF, DET, or OTT. Don't see MTL having interest but again maybe he takes no risks. Knocking out those Metro teams like CLB, PHI, and NJ would be key. The rest got top-10 goalies but CAR could still be a possibility but he can't block them all. I think SJ and CHI could be left off since they probably won't give up the assets to acquire him. If he was a cap dump then those two would be teams to block, since they could dump him there and then he'll probably want to go about anywhere after that. He probably leaves DAL, COL, and maybe VGK unblocked.</div></div>

Chicago would concern me if I were him. Boston could require Taylor Hall and they have a lot secondary picks in this draft. It’s an easy jump for them to think he could pay off more in a flip at worst.

Also, teams with inferior goalies to him that could flip them to a team with a bad one (like Colorado) would also be a concern.

My guess is his list is basically most teams past the central time zone and select Canadian teams that suck in the East though the demarcation point between Detroit, Ottawa, Jersey, and Philly might not be as big as fans perceive

He.could add a Vancouver, Winnipeg, Toronto, or Vegas to potentially remove some bad record options. That said, an injury could change that perspective real quick

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMBL</b></div><div>Why are you assuming that there would be a bidding war? Ehlers is a second-line top 6F (arguably higher-end) who is highly skilled but doesn't have any skill set or trait that would make him highly sought (as opposed to Trouba), the fact that he's injury prone doesn't help. I'm sure WPG would have options but so would other teams whether it be via free agency (some better, some worse) or the trade market with the likes of Necas and Marner potentially being available to them.

He doesn't need a contract like Fiala (who was coming off a much better season than Ehlers) or PLD, and there really isn't a need for him to rush into an extension. 1) Ehlers might not get traded to a place that he knows for sure that he would want to re-sign. 2) More importantly, if he produces at PPG or even 70+ with his new team he'll move to a higher pay grade.</div></div>

I’m basing it just based off of the number of fanbases that have made posts about acquiring him. Islanders, caps, pens, Sens, Utah, Seattle, Jersey, leafs, bruins, Habs, Sabres. I’ve seen posts from all these fanbases about acquiring him. I think he may make sense for the blackhawks too if they want to be better for Bedard.

With time on PP1, that he doesn’t get with the Jets, he easily goes point per game so I agree that he may not want to sign an extension but maybe he does. Nobody knows but him.

Anyhow, it is similar that there is one year of team control remaining.
