The habs are too far along in their rebuild to reasonably consider taking on Campbell's contract. It's almost impossible to move, oilers probably have to hold it for another year at the very least.

Should be asking Blues fans what we think

Because that is a absolutely hysterically bad trade

His wife, his agent, and apparently you are in the inner circle he discussed at his end of season interview smile

It was interesting when he talked about winning and mentioned Edmonton as a good situation. My guess is it doesn’t fit his criteria, but I’d wonder if it fits it better than Columbus or Chicago right now.

Does not matter if it is better fit, he’s not waiving for any of them. Oh and he used Edmonton as an example of how situations change in terms of having a competitive team over the course a few years. He was not saying he is willing to go there.

He has 15 teams he can update his list to around July 1st.

I was stunned that Chicago wasn’t on Taylor Hall’s list.

If he likes what he sees there, it's not farfetched to think that he may waive to play out the final year of his contract. He seems to have no interest in leaving in general, so I don't think he'll go without a fight, maybe at the TDL it happens.

I don't see him being traded to the Oilers in a package for Draisaitl. I'm sure in that case, Edmonton would become even less appealing. (Edit: Not sure why I thought there was a Draisaitl trade).

I wasn’t. Hall does not seem the type to have an O6 team on his list.

The one that stunned me was Eric Staal and Buffalo a few years ago. He did not have him on the list because he never thought they’d trade for him,

He’s happy in Boston and does not want to leave. He may not have a choice but as long as he does he will exercise it. Edmonton is on the list primarily due to location and it’s not like they can fix that.

Yeah, he'll have to be strategic with his NTL next year to try to stay put.

He can be strategic to a degree, but it will increase his geographical or team quality considerations. My guess is he has west coast teams on his NTC along with most Canadian teams.

Maybe he adds a Toronto, to a trade able team so he can remove a Columbus. Maybe he adds a Winnipeg, so he can remove a Chicago.

I am curious to see how it plays out, but there are enough teams in the list to make a trade.

Yeah, i wonder if he would keep Winnipeg off his NLT since they virtually don't need him, unless something happens to Helleybuyck, but it's possible that he's too scared to take chances. I think Toronto is a team that can go for him, and he might not mind but he could probably bet on BOS not trading him in division perhaps unless it's to BUF, DET, or OTT. Don't see MTL having interest but again maybe he takes no risks. Knocking out those Metro teams like CLB, PHI, and NJ would be key. The rest got top-10 goalies but CAR could still be a possibility but he can't block them all. I think SJ and CHI could be left off since they probably won't give up the assets to acquire him. If he was a cap dump then those two would be teams to block, since they could dump him there and then he'll probably want to go about anywhere after that. He probably leaves DAL, COL, and maybe VGK unblocked.

Chicago would concern me if I were him. Boston could require Taylor Hall and they have a lot secondary picks in this draft. It’s an easy jump for them to think he could pay off more in a flip at worst.

Also, teams with inferior goalies to him that could flip them to a team with a bad one (like Colorado) would also be a concern.

My guess is his list is basically most teams past the central time zone and select Canadian teams that suck in the East though the demarcation point between Detroit, Ottawa, Jersey, and Philly might not be as big as fans perceive

He.could add a Vancouver, Winnipeg, Toronto, or Vegas to potentially remove some bad record options. That said, an injury could change that perspective real quick

Yeah, Vancouver especially can be a bad one with how Demko's health has been.

Another item to consider is what’s his agents perspective. I do think there are probably markets where they are offering a pre trade extension agreement that he might consider certain markets if it is the perfect situation. A year is a long time to consider what the impact to his free agent value will be.

Turning down LA made sense. It’s a team that has historically said they wouldn’t pay for goalies and it’s far away from his immediate family as much as his extended family.

As someone who flies to Europe a lot from the west coast, I can tell you the lost day on the flight to Europe is a pain. Give me a direct flight any day of the week.
