Patrik Laine Comments please

Why would they not keep Laine? What did I miss?

Patrik Laine Comments please
Laine is second in goals since he joined the league.

He's on pace to have a better career than any hb outside of maybe Carey Price. He's a 21 year old having a ****ty year and still may hit 40 goals.
To get him think Kotkaneimi, Drouin and a couple firsts.

Montreal Deadline with TBL MIN LAK
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>EthanK24</b></div><div>If it’s formatted correctly I think they will. Callahan’s not going back to Tampa Bay, he’s being traded, and MTL retains salary in return for a 2nd, just as Vegas retained salary in return for Reaves.</div></div>
very creative for sure ,think we could get bit more for helping tampa

Anyone interested in Carey Price so we can rebuilt ?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>littlejerryseinfeld</b></div><div>nope, you are going to have to sleep in that very expensive and hilariously stupid bed.</div></div>
How in the hell do you justify the contract being stupid? 10m for the best goalie in the world. LLundqvist signed 8.5 over 7 years when he was 2 years older just 3 years ago.
Yes the Habs are not going to win a cup with him between the pipes. All you internet capologists can laugh all you want. If Price were to hit the open market, you can bet that number would be higher. On the trade market, 30 teams will be calling about him. If he didn't resign him, everybody would whip Bergy over that.

no MB?
No MB, means no Weise, Deslauriers, Petry, Schlemko, Benn, Froese, Niemi, Fleischman. By the same logic, no Sergachev, Scherbak, Mete, Juulsen, etc etc.
Not defending MB here but your cherry picking a lot of things. As bad as he is, he did get some things right.

Trade with MTL - thoughts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kosterjr</b></div><div>For 1 yr of Patches? I don’t care if he scores 50 goals still not worth one year of his services now if we have a cap friendly extension in place then yes it becomes worth it. Again you can keep Alzner and his big cap hit. We don’t need nor want it.</div></div>
You can have your opinion but to think the value is off is wrong. Look at what Rick Nash got at the trade deadline last year

Trade with MTL - thoughts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kosterjr</b></div><div>Not sure why the Panthers would do this, overpaying for Patches and a salary dump in Alzner which they don’t need with the signing of Bogdan.</div></div>
You act like Patches wouldn’t be the best scorer that teams seen in the past 10 years (check the resume). He is instantly their best winger, best goal scorer and could play on the top unit of their PK and PP.
For a winger/Center that barely gets 50 points a year? Or the two no name prospects ? and 5th round pick?
Ow but let’s not forget that we’re also sending Alzner, a second round pick and a 3rd round pick. Im not even an Alzner fan I can still tell you that he is an NHL defenceman, not an elite one but would still play every game in Florida.
This trade is insanely one sided. You don’t trade an elite left winger, one of the NHLs best left wingers for three players that will never eclipse 60 points, possibly combined.

MTL NYI CAR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>How about chucky?</div></div>
not for Saad - Chucky is younger and still has some upside (and cheaper)
the reality is that Saad doesn't fit our needs... we need centermen and a LHD... not another winger.

Tank years
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Truebeliever</b></div><div>If you're going to tank, go all the way. Petry has good value. No reason to move Mete and Juulsen back to the minors.
Also, if you're going this route, you want to be amassing picks for 2019 and 2020, since the two best Quebec players of a generation are on the rise: <a href="http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=195949" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Raphael Lavoie</a> and <a href="http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=208990" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Alexis Lafrenniere</a></div></div>
Not quite sure if joking but I don't support this kinda thinking at all. We need to rebuild but we need to keep a couple of good vets around (i.e. not guys like McDonald) and not just throw our youngsters to the wolves a la Buffalo and Edmonton and destroy their careers. Not to mention while this team would be downright awful, it wouldn't guarantee us Lafreniere. Sure we would likely get a top pick after sucking long enough but then it's a really tough job to turn the ship around as we've seen with Edmonton and Buffalo.
