<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gallagher11</b></div><div>I agree with Zadina, but I’m not sold on Tkachuk and Bouchard. Sure, they are going to be great NHL players for their team, but I don’t think they are as talented as the other guys in my list. They’re overrated in my opinion, but that’s just me. I think a guy like Hughes would be a better option and fit since they lack quality LHD. Kotkaniemi has more upside than Tkachuk and Brady didn’t impress me that much . As the oldest player in the draft, I expected him to be dominant, which he was, but not at the level I wanted him to be.</div></div>
Fair enough. I'm a Sens fan, so I was also disappointed they didn't take Zadina, but would not have wanted Kotkaniemi that early. I like your list, but Quinn Hughes is too small of a dman for me to pick at #3. At least with a bigger guy, it's somewhat easier for them to make the transition. I like guys like Quinn Hughes between 8-12, but not top 5. I guess it depends on your plan, but being a Sens or Habs fan, I think you'd want those high picks in the NHL lineup as soon as possible. I don't see Hughes being there in the next two years, but will be a really nice piece in 3+ years. All about what you prefer i guess!

Depending on where they pick, this is who they should pick.
1st Pick - Jack Hughes
2nd Pick - Kakko Kappo
3rd Pick - Alex Newhook (Play him at wing)
4th Pick - Anttoni Honka
5th Pick - Peyton Krebs/Cole Caufield/Dylan Cozens (If available)

He'll really show how good he is when he heads to Boston College in two years. But for now, he'll show off his skills in the BCHL with the Grizzlies.

Comment Max Pacioretty trade proposals
I think you have this Armchair GM thing backwards Gally. This is how this is supposed to go:
You post crappy trade idea.
Everyone posts its bad trade.
Commentors get their rage out.
You question why do I bother posting AGM's on this site. And on and on it goes.
Head honchos at CF head quarters:

And yet the question is who is the best fit for MTL. But thanks for the random opinion that has nothing to do with the question that OP asked.

I'd love to see Kaapo Kakko and Kotkaniemi play together but since LHD is our biggest need for the future, probably one of York or Byram.

Jesperi Kotkaniemi.
Montréal deeply needs to develop prospect at the centerline.
Next year, let's go with defense.

Player expectations and hopes, and season opener lines
ines are good but byron should be in the lineup as i dont think he is hurt and he produces... Carey as the third goalies is just plain silly though and Petry will not be traded as he is appreciated in mtl... Trade patches but look what col got for duchene by being patient and no one thought they would get so much..... maybe we wont get that much but we should get more than a 1st round pick who might only turn into an nhler?

Habs future
drafting was never the problem. development was. and i think with the addiditions of the 2 of the best coaches from junior hockey in bouchard and ducharme, whom have a great resume, we could be building something great here. also, ppl don't seem to know alexander romanov. he can be webers partner in 2-3 years. he's extremely skilled and a fantastic skater. he dropped low in rankings because he plays in the mhl in russia, where a lot of scouts don't get a prolonged look at.

This is the best thing any Habs fan has ever said. They always seem to be pointing fingers at specifics people/problems (players, coaches, GM) when the big issues is Development. It's one thing to have all the tools (talent wise), but it's another to be able to properly use the tools. The best thing they can do right now is keeping all these kids away from the NHL and slotting them in Junior/minors/ etc. where they can work on their skills and actually develop.

Who are the NHL-ready draft prospects in my top 15 2018 mock draft, right now

Damn, he's probably the only one worth talking about haha. I think at camp and preseason he'll play his way into getting a cup of coffee, and my guess is he'll stick, but it will depend on how he's used. If MTL drafts him and lets him play on the top line, he should be able to stick. But if they play him 10 min per night on a checking line, they will set him up for failure.
