You should fill out the rest of the roster before expecting realistic feedback because depending on who you have on the team would determine what needs BUF would want to fill through the trade

I'd like to think this would be a fair deal for both teams. For those who would say "But Patches only has one year left", This would give a lot of flexibility to BUF. It's not like they will just keep him for a year then let him walk, they will have a chance to see if he develops chemistry with Eichel, and if he does he will most likely be around 35-40goals and BUF could extend him to something similar to what Kane got, or trade him for more assets at the deadline. If Nash got a 1st rd pick, young #3C, and blue collar defensive prospect. Patches will absolutely get that.
So the deal could also be considered:

(1st rd pick
young NHL player
blue chip prospect) acquired at the deadline
Charlie lindgren
2nd rd pick

all that for ROR would be great asset management imo

Carolina - 2018 2nd Rd + 2019 1st Rd + V.Rask and your choice of 1 of their prospects (not Necas, Foegele, Zykov, or Nedeljkovic)

Not worth the risk of pacs walking though.

It wouldn't get to that point. You'd think the second GMBOT gets a wiff that Patches doesn't want to resign, he's gone at the deadline. Which is what happened with Kane.

All I'm saying is doing that type of deal for Patches grants a lot more flexibility than most people think. You have the option to keep him, or move him to yield more assets. It's not just they resign him or he walks for nothing.

What do you mean flexibility. Pacs contract will be close to the same amount as rors and we lose center depth. The return won't be what everyone thinks it is for pacs after such a down year.

That's the standard BS answer everyone gives on hear, don't buy into it. The only reason Patches wasn't moved at the deadline this past season was because Bergefail demanded that a top 6 NHL ready centermen had to be in the deal, which didn't make sense for contending teams that wanted to keep their roster players for a playoff push.

If the demand would of been just picks and prospects, you could bet there would be a lineup of teams that would of paid for him, which is what BUF would most likely be asking for if they had him and were taking offers. Pacioretty, even with his "down year", is top 10 in goals scoring over the past couple seasons, remove this past season, and he's 4th. and you can't really blame him for this season. he had a winger (Drouin) playing as his center for 3/4 of the season.
