<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>arousedcat</b></div><div>Most of these seem like you are giving up very little to get a lot. To get these players you'd have to give quality to get quality.
I don't think Matthew Tkachuk is available, but if he is the price would be very high. I don't think either Stone nor Duchene would get it done due to their ages and contracts. There's only 2 other players that come close to Matthew's value. One of them is his brother, which I imagine the whole point in trading for Matthew is to unite the two brothers, and even then Ottawa might have to add since Matthew is more of a proven player. The other is Chabot, who doesn't make much sense for Calgary since they just traded for Hanifin. If Ottawa still had their 1st this year, that might get it done for Calgary since that pick has a good chance of being a high one.
Bobrovsky is going to cost much more than an overpaid winger and some spare parts. I think Columbus would be more interested in Stone or Duchene for Bob than Calgary would be for M Tkachuk, but Stone and Duchene are such big parts of the Sens success that trading them doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I also don't see the need for Bob since the Sens are apparently rebuilding and trading for a goalie over 30 gives you a much smaller window than acquiring a promising young goalie in the draft this year. You might be able to move a center prospect for a goalie prospect since the Sens have a very deep center prospect pool.</div></div>
Thanks for reading the description and giving reasons why and options Arousedcat I will sit with my daughter and go over your response with her and see what else we can come up with. we figured that some of the players we had in the trades had value, so we will try again and hopefully we can pull off a good trade that benefits both sides. We are by no means experts and just enjoy the sport and the Sens and actually I enjoy doing this with her. thanks again,

Daughter and I playing around-thoughts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kaifin</b></div><div>I just don't like Gallagher ;)
I also wouldn't go after Quick if we're going after a goalie but maybe Bobrovsky or even a lesser name like Markstrom. Bob is a UFA at the end of the year, so he'd be a rental unless we re-sign him, but Columbus has Korpisalo who they seem confident in to be their starter should Bob not re-sign. Vancouver also has Demko and DiPietro for the future, which might be much closer as Markstrom has 2 years left. I'd just be worried about giving up anything for Quick, as good as he is, because of how injury prone he is. Just some examples off the top of my head but I think they'd be cheaper options than Quick</div></div>
Thanks for the response Kaifin and the for your reason why. will show my daughter and see what else we can come up with, cheers

Thanks for the replies, CMac66 yes it is great being able to do this with her. She is only 11 and she is showing so much interest. Her player is Mark Stone. <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>The Tzachuk trade, there's a life lesson. Better to have one good boyfriend, then trading him in for four iffy ones.</div></div> that is too funny, will have to have a talk with her on that trade...lol

what about the Montreal trade you don't like and what would you add to LA trade

My Thoughts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MelnykOut</b></div><div>Tarasenko is a better player than Hoffman. The blues probably wouldn't make that trade straight up, let alone add their 2nd best prospect and another decent piece.
For advice, I'd say find a first major piece and then work from there to even out that value in a way that makes sense for both sides.
For example, if it's Hoffman to STL (I think they will pursue him) then the main piece should (hopefully) be Fabbri or Kyrou. Kyrou and a 1st is good value for Hoffman. The blues may need to add a roster player making a decent amount if money to even out the cap. Sens may need to add a mid-round or a B- Prospect. If Fabbri is the main piece, then the picks might change Because of his knee injuries. It's say Fabbri+2nd+Cap Dump+A conditional 1st (Sens only get the 1st if Fabbri misses 25 games due to his knee)
I'd say Sobotka is the best bet to move cap as they have some guys like Thompson and Kostin and Barbashev to take his spot for cheaper.
So Hoffman+(small add) for Kyrou+Sobotka+1st
Or Hoffman+(Small add) for Fabbri+Sobotka+2nd+Conditional 1st.</div></div>
Thanks for the advice Melnykout, will tweek some more
