An Outside Fans Perspective

What kind of package would you be looking for in a Marner deal? From the outside, I think that they need someone who's a bit bigger, and has multiple good tools at their disposal. I feel as though Marner is kind of pigeon-holed into the role of playmaker/passer, whereas if they acquired someone (like Kempe or Forsberg with the money they save) it gives them more flexibility and versatility up front.

Lol LA definitely has more than enough pieces to acquire Marner, there's no doubting that.
I just don't think that the Leafs would be looking for straight-up prospects in a potential Marner deal, hence the inclusion of Kempe and Walker. If you frame it in the sense that the Marner's money goes towards Forsberg, you can add him in the theoretical deal as a piece acquired and I don't think that its that far fetched of a deal. Toronto's biggest acquisition in the deal is cap flexibility, which is something that they sorely need.

Matt Dumba to Ottaaa
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dutchies</b></div><div>I can live with the 2 seconds, as both will be fairly high, but the player value needs to go up. Logan Brown is officially a bust. He's had ample opportunity and comes up wanting every time. I say the 2 seconds, Brannstrom (who's getting close to a bust IMO, but has upside still under the right coaching) and Nick Paul (who I think would be a great fit on that team). My other option was Connor Brown, but I really feel Ottawa needs his leadership. he should be the Captain of that team. Rhea EccE Thoughts?</div></div>
Ok so first off, don't get me wrong, Logan Brown has been very disappointing. Continually gets hurt. I don't wanna say he's a throw in at this point, but it wouldn't be the worst idea for a team to try and get something out of him and pick him up in a trade. As for your comment on Brannstrom, he's only 21. Lets not call someone that young who's put up pretty decent numbers on a not great Ottawa team this year and was continually healthy scratched cause DJ just couldn't get enough of Coburn and Gudbranson. Brannstrom might be worth more than Dumba alone.
So, if you're the Wild, you're getting a reclamation project in L. Brown, a recent 1st round pick who is compared to the likes of JG Pageau and Nazem Kadri, and 2 high seconds. Thats not terrible value. Except for Tierney, who's a goal suck. I honestly don't know how much more Ottawa would need to give up, its basically a 1st and 2 seconds + Tierney and Brown. Seems pretty good to me.

Eichel to MTL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dutchies</b></div><div>This isn't enough.
Drouin - Cap dump
Tatar - UFA, will never sign in BUF
KK - the only positive player in this offer
Norlinder - Nothing
You need to to add value for Eichel, let alone Middlestadt.
Drouin I can see as a cap trade.
KK needs to be in it.
But you need to add some other value in top end prospects and producers</div></div>
This would be a tough deal for Montreal to make. They don't have a top prospect imo like LA or NYR. So, if the Habs were gonna do this, I think one of Suzuki or KK has to be in it plus Romanov, plus multiple firsts and something else. Norlinder is good, but not the level of prospect that Buffalo would be looking for. I also feel like people on here are underestimating how good Jack Eichel is, and what his value in a trade is. Don't get me wrong, Buffalo will, in all likelihood, lose the Eichel trade, because the team trading the star almost always loses (Ottawa and EK is the most recent example of an exemption, but there are extenuating circumstances around that). Buffalo has to be weary, but they also need to find a way to maximize Eichel's value on the trade market.

Who says no
0% chance Buffalo does this. Not even in the ball park. DeBrusk has been a healthy scratch multiple times this season, and Studnicka has yet to break in and show he's got a legit shot at being a Top-6 player. In reality, there are only two teams that have real good chances to land Eichel: the Rangers and the Kings. And each deal revolves around a top prospect in the league: Turcotte or Byfield from LA and Kratsov, Kakko, or Lafrieniere from the Rangers.

Edmonton Needs Pageau
I couldn't put this into the trade machine, but there would be a condition on the pick that if Edmonton misses the playoffs and the pick ends up in the Top 3, then it can be deferred to next year (2021).

Some trade
I think you underestimate how good Rasmus Andersson is. He plays almost 20 minutes a night, and is a positive possession player. he splits time between the 3rd pair with Kylington and the top pair with Giordano. Nic Dowd is worth nothing, and moving a second into a first isn't worth what Andersson brings to the table

Kreider Skjei Andersson to Edmonton
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Chenz69</b></div><div>Says that the Rangers are below the Cap lower limit. Must be broken cause the money makes sense.</div></div>
No sir. In what world is this anywhere near fair value for what the Rangers are giving up? Also, the salaries may not add up because of how the cap hit of players changes over the course of the season. Just a thought
