Making changes to win your thoughts
Imo here is my break down
Kase for johnsson - wash
Kapanen for Henrique + 2 5ths - favouring ANA a bit
Kivihalme for a 5th - wash
Holl + Bracco for Manson and retaining $12M over 4 years -Absolutely ridiculously favouring the leafs

Why would you trade Hyman just to overpay Mikheyev who played what 30 games? Keep Hyman give Mikheyev another one year deal to basically retry and then give Hamonic term and IDK enough about Veleno to address that part

If the price for any top 4 RHD is too high at the TDL
Dubas said he isn’t making a trade that doesn’t move the needle, not giving up a ton but giving up any assets for these players that really don’t make the team any better is pointless, plus once Rielly and Ceci are back you’ll have like 4 Defenders scratched that’s not good for the room

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nick623</b></div><div>Johansson isn't a top 6. You can't be thinking Tage Thompson is a top 6. Sabres have a top 3 and a bunch of 7-13 fordwards.
Without a 3rd for compensation, the Sabres can offer Cirelli < 4.3 AAV or > 10.6AAV...</div></div>
I was think a good 2C and Skinner and a meh guy like johansson or Thompson would be a real solid 2nd and with that first it’d be a real good top 6.... but then I realized skinner is garbage rn lol

I was looking at that top 6 thinking it’s really just 1 player shy of being really good and then I looked at skinners stats and actually laughed... who thought that contract was a good idea?

My playoff lineup if they even make it
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boomer125</b></div><div>Agree to disagree, Georgiev looks like a flash in the pan at this stage , also Leafs aren't shopping for a potential starter or a future starter, they are in need of a backup to play what 6/8 games at the most between now and the end of season? That's why it's expensive, now if Freddie got hurt back in December that'd be a whole different story</div></div>
But I think they should be in the market for a 1B option and not someone to get you 2-3 wins the rest of the year, if they can rest Freddie and make a push at the same time wouldn’t that be great?

Freddie cost a late 1st and a 2nd - was also more experienced and came with an extension</div></div>
Dubnyk was one of the most lopsided trades ever and Freddie is a decent comparable because he was more experienced but also a few years older and that extension was for a lot more $ than Georgiev will take, so honestly There is no reason Georgiev should cost much less than Freddie which Johnsson and a late 2nd is less

Campbell is a good option but desmith is one to stay away from

I think a lot of people are under valuing a 23 y.o with a .913 in 66 games, I mean carter hart has a .911 in 61 games and just cause he is 2 years younger he is amazing but Georgiev isn’t worth a middle six winger and a 2nd? I mean Georgiev isn’t Hart but is he that ridiculously far off

I’d be happy if it costs less but the demand for help in net is there and he is about the best available option so you gotta pay up, this is about the most I’d be content to see the leafs give up

It’s a backup who can steal some starts though, wouldn’t it be nice to have a high end duo instead of a Starter and a guy who you pray gets you 5 wins all year, also he is young and if he resigns at an okay hit can split starts with Freddy for years to come

I didn’t say he was a highly valueable asset, that’s why it’s not 1 for 1 but he certainly an asset otherwise why even have him in this trade, if you don’t like him as the asset you want you can replace it with another of similar value like a 3rd or maybe another leafs second as it will be a late one or another prospect like SDA

Why Manson to TOR doesnt work for ANA
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mytduxfan</b></div><div>All TOR prospects are “elite” prospects, even ones that have regressed since their draft *cough* Liljegren *cough*... *cough* still has top pairing potential *cough*
BUF says “no”. When will TOR fans get the message that middle 6 wingers that don’t drive the play don’t net top 4 D-men?
You’re underselling Manson. Liljegren isn’t that good. His ceiling is well-below what Manson has achieved and his skill set isn’t nearly as desirable. Also, TOR fans love talking about how Manson “regressed” since being on arguably the most dominant shutdown pairing in the NHL, but the skirt over the fact that Liljegren has regressed too and clearly doesn’t have the upside they originally thought. The kid hasn’t even sniffed an NHL ice and is already falling short of expectations and we’re supposed to be grateful that he’s included in a deal for our best RHD. Get real! Keep him and we’ll keep Manson.
Kase + Sprong + Perry’s cap hit + 2nd for Nylander. That 3 assets for 1 so you win, riiiiiiigggggghhhhhtttttt? Duuuuhhhhh! Such nonsensical TOR fan logic.</div></div>
Lol I was just chirping him for not know what asset management is, and saying Liljegren has regressed shows you have never watched him play, he has worked hard on his defensive game and he is now legitimately good defensively while also putting up 26 points in 35 games (also progress not regression) from the blue line... also he has played an NHL game so yes he has sniffed NHL ice, seriously this post just shows how little you know for how much you talk
