omg would that be perfect for you guys .
he'd rebuild around youth with a few stars brought in like when Federov was acquired and everyone around him began to over achieve

yeah MB always on camera lucky for us and despite Plekanec having no interest at first when the year wound down and TDL hit he realized his last chance at the playoffs was with TML not MTL .
he took the deal and came back in the summer after getting MTL Olofsson and Kulak in the end after he worked though the pieces from the original deal .
Holland has to go he's burning your team to the ground and what should have been a 2-3 year rebuild looks like it has no time table similar to ARZ 2011-2015 .

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hellochris06</b></div><div>Never understood the De la Rose pickup, but if you’re desperate to trade Hudon, why would we even want him? Never understand this logic.
You’re not telling me anything I don’t know about the team. But to “be lucky” to trade LGD for a downgrade - when Detroit has no interest in trading him to begin with - doesn’t seem like anything that’s going to happen. Only way I see that they trade him is in an overpayment from somebody who really wants him. Don’t see him going for equal value because it’s not like they’re cap strapped or need him out for any other reason.
AA is fine now that they finally paid him more like what he’s worth on a bridge. He’ll probably get paid more than Larkin on his next deal.
The team basically hinges on whether or not they hire Yzerman in some role this offseason or not.</div></div>
not my post i dont Trade Hudon .
i come here to deal with people trying to share all they dont know about our prospects like they tried Burying Lehkonen all last year .
basically what i had confirms what i thought about DET direction , they are not interested in putting the players first in any capacity . A team that is content to let a long term leader like that leave the NHL without seeing the playoffs for his last few years is just outright cold .
Plekanec served us loyally and we even traded him to our rival in our division just because it was his best chance , luckily MTL puts hockey first and treats players with reverence .

That’s why I added Jensen, the other part that’s intentional is helms contract expires the same time as the fin, Tatar, domi, Gallagher, and Suzuki. I debated about adding schlemko to even it out salary wise.
Appreciate the feedback

Nyquist with 50% retained to Calgary for Derek Ryan and Valimaki? Might be a little pie-in-the-sky there but I'm sure they'd like some help affording Tkachuk next season.</div></div>
Not sure what kind of cap space Detroit has for next season but if they could score a prospect like Valimaki for taking a bit of cap dumpage like Derek Ryan that'd be pretty good for them.

The Wings aren't trading AA and definitely not for that.
I'm not saying Lehkonen is a bad player. When you have Glendening, Ehn and De La Rose that fill that same role you have absolutely no use for him.

Rosen might be closer to being NHL ready being that he's 24. At 19 and 18 respectively, Liljegren and Sandin still viewed as significantly better prospects. Borgman we don't hear too much about any more. He suffered a concussion but, even before that...looked like a guy who was being surpassed by other d-man in the system.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hellochris06</b></div><div>In regards to the Detroit trade, I’d rather just keep Jensen.</div></div>
For Detroit to trade for a veteran defenseman he'd have to be a top 4 defenseman. Now I don't think Jensen is worth that but we have some solid D in GR waiting to get a chance and 3 of them have way more up side than Marincin.

Deadline moves
Anaheim and Toronto aren't really good trade partners. Anaheim needs LWs and has a lot of right-handed forwards (Rakell, Silfverberg, Aberg, Kase, Sprong and Sherwood plus two stiffs on the IR) and Toronto can't answer either need. Montour is a top 4 defenseman and a first-round draft pick plus an undersized RW isn't going to land him.

Nah, I don't think GMs are that short-sighted in their valuation of Nylander. I just don't think the Blues are accepting fair offers for Parayko, they want to build around him because they won't be able to replace him very easily. An offer they can't resist? Sure, but otherwise it's all kinda wasting breath.

How can we move forward
Mantha could be exactly what Stone is today, and do it for 1/3 of the cost. I'm not sure the deal with NSH is worth it, especially since there is no guarantee Fabbro will sign in Detroit. He can wait until 2020 and sign with anyone he wants. And Fabbro is going to be beholden to a first contract, so max will be 925,000+bonuses.
I think we've seen out of this DET team that while the forwards do need some help (and help is coming with maturity), the biggest issue is on the backend. Green is either significantly better than people give him credit for, or Detroit is playing with 3 dmen and 3 pilons each night (I believe the answer is both). If you are going to invest money in FA, I believe it should be done on the back end.
The Kap offer sheet is interesting. 3.8mm would be TOR in a pretty big bind cap wise, and would keep the comp down. He may get his choice of offer sheets.

This trade could only happen after the cards fell and Colorado knew where they'd be picking. If the Avs get 1st overall, they're not moving it. If they get the 4-8 range, they might consider as they're getting close to being a true contender and with Makar on the way they'll only get better. Mackinnon is playing out of this world but he needs help now, a draft pick doesn't help him win next year.

Very good point. I put AA there bc like you said, it’d be nice for him to develop into a 2nd or 3rd line center. If not I see us packaging him and possibly svechnikov in a deal for Justin Faulk.
Both helm and AA excelled playing on a line w Nielsen and vanek so they could definitely be switched.
