PHI trades for mature players who can handle Torts
I bet Helleybuyck is so primed for fresh start he'll give Torts some leash. He may kill Risto, though!

Jarvis goes home CAR gets their sniper
CAR gets Connor. Huge scoring add. Also Lowry who will prob be a Brindamour favourite and can take on some of Staal's burden. Morrissey's long $$ is part of the price of this deal.
WPG sheds their long term deals. MB native Jarvis brings youth and Pesce freshens D with some term. Picks up G prospect to tutor behind Hellebuyck and CHI 3rd rounder. Big cap space add overall enables PL Dubois pursuit or other FA, eg Trocheck or ?? Klingberg? Klinger Pionk Pesce aside Schmidt Dillon in front of Hellebuyck is a good look.

Quick Willie
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tryger</b></div><div>Quick won't be traded unless he asks
Danault and Arvidsson have been fantastic, losing Arvidsson and getting back Nylander doesn't help us that much in our top-6
Muzzin has concussion issues, has declined quite a bit, and would be required to waive for this trade to work.
Very unrealistic from the Kings side.</div></div>
I sensed it wasnt enough and dont know enough about Quick's contract power. I would submit that Willie's 30+ goals and 80+ points help the Kings a great deal, while Arvidsson is an equivalent health risk to Muzzin, maybe more because Muzzin may be sheltered a bit more in his 2nd stint in LA. Last season may have been a case study in Dman depth for LA.
Tryger, what would you need to make this deal work?

Quick Willie
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dutchies</b></div><div>Interesting one.........
A couple questions for me:
1) Do we think Quick has enough left in the tank to carry the load through the regular season and playoffs?
2) Removing Willie and replacing him with Arvidsson - I'm a little worried that we're not properly replacing the offense on the second line, and teams will be able to hone in more frequently on the top line. And I don't see an adequate replacement in the system at the moment.</div></div>
1. paired with Holtby UFA, I could see their 3 cups and load maintenance offering steadier, less volatile tending than what they got last year. And once again, Dubas is gonna lose a major component for nada. Quick + Holtby for 8mil aims to be respectable with rings.
2. this doesnt replace Willie. They shouldn't replace his type of shifty temperamental scoring in one person. Arvidsson is partly to restore PK after Mikheyev departs and there will need to be another piece added. Turcotte can go quite a ways in this regard... many teams looking to get younger ahem VAN Miller, for one, would listen in earnest to a Turcotte package. Or maybe go another way and net Gourde for Turcotte and Mrazek who can build some of his value while Driedger is on the shelf. Gourde and Arvidsson would give the Leafs a different look in the playoffs next year than one Willie Nyls.

DAL refreshes SEA ready to sell TOR physical RD
Klingberg FA signing in SEA puts them over the cap floor.
SEA gets younger on RD while picking up 2 expiring contracts in Kerfoot and Gurianov to trade at deadline for more assets.
Clears up goalie confusion with Mrazek as new backup to Grubauer.
DAL trades in Khudobin for younger G prospects. Trades expiring contract Gurianov for Robertson younger brother who needs fresh start after bad inj luck in TOR Upgrades to Larsson on RD who can eat Klingberg minutes responsibly while replacing Haakanpaa with Holl.
TOR goes with Holtby #1 and Khudobin to begin season until Driedger heals to replace Khudo and become #1.
Upgrade in size and snarl with Soucy and Haakanpaa on right D at good prices and add'l term.
Move out expiring Kerfoot deal.

CAR gets Goaler Svech x2 in WPG
I can see your point.
CAR is a bargain hunter team and will continue to, IMO, seek underperforming or underpaid talent.
Dont you think the all-world Hellebuyck has a brighter future under CAR system behind Slavin?
Dont you think Scheifele benefits from Brind'Amour tutelage?
Freddie cant be counted on. Great reg season and that's all. You could get underpaid superstars ripe forna change of scenery and return to the playoffs.

Robertson Bros in DAL Holtby signs with Leafs
DAL add backup G and prospect who could benefit from fresh start and proximity to his prolific brother.
Leafs gain tougher RD in Haakanpaa and rights to re-sign Holtby at similar 2m deal to be backup or even 1B goalie.
RD Holl to Dal to open room for Leafs and offset Haakanpaa loss for DAL.
