It's kinda hilarious he's offering the same contract for Gallagher than he did for Anderson, when Gallagher is twice the player Anderson has shown to be.
Think the next deal will be something like 7x7.

Honestly its a good time to be selling a C with how shallow the UFA C depth is this year (Koivu, Soderberg, Thornton, Haula - wow now that I look this up its even worse than I thought), I just dont think COL is a good fit

even with an extension that seems like a pretty steep price, especially for a team with 2 established Cs already. You would probably get a better return from a team looking for a top 6C (WPG, MIN, CGY, etc)

CANES FANS
From the rumours spreading around from Pierre LeBrun, MTL doesn't seem to consider Bean an A level prospect.
I know some consider Bean quite the prospect, but he was drafted in 2016 and has just been fine since then - he's no guarantee to replace Petry in the top 4

Then there is Boldy, Kaprizov, and Kunin all as wings too.

Montreal adds another dman
not sure why MTL would be motivated to do this deal. they have cap space (12.565M currently) and don't really need to cap dump Alzner. Vlasic can't be worth a 1st rd pick in this draft. more like this is a cap dump FOR the Sharks and lucky just to unload his contract w/o giving up a 1st of their own. if we took Alzner in order to mitigate some of Vlasic's cap hit (for 3 years) i think we'd be lucky to get 1 of their 2nd's and 4th's in return.

I've seen both guys extensively and although they are both offense first players, they suffered from different deficiencies. Galchenyuk's will and compete level is what killed him. he felt he didn't need to compete hard because he was talented enough to not have to.
Drouin plays hard and has the will to want to succeed. He just gets clumsy defensively and doesn't always make the smart play at the right time.
Maybe he's not the right fit for the Pens granted but I am almost certain he'd fit in better than Galch did with you guys. By a country mile.

Because of the fact that SJS needs to pay to get Vlasic off their hands
And

I respectfully suggest that you reconsider Pageau, even as a rental, for an AHLer and a third.
"Flipping" players usually only applies to players acquired in the first half of the year, not a couple of weeks before the trade deadline.

The only way Price leaves MTL
I don’t think it’s an unrealistic situation if MTL asked price to waive his NMC to go to Seattle. They’d probably have to give something up for them to take him. I could see it being like Seattle picks random player from MTL, MTL trades price with 2.5m retained to Seattle with a B prospect. Then Seattle flips price with another 1m retained (he’s now at 7m x 7) to a team needing a goalie for like B prospect or whatever they get idk. I don’t think it’s an unreasonable situation. It’s all up to price though. If MTL is heading towards a quick 1-2 year retool (IMO they should) he might want to spend the last couple of his good years on a team competing.
Since MTL is getting out from 8m for the next 7 years, they’d have to give something up, not sure what.

Where Carey Price will end up
1000%. Great post.
As @gmgb said, there's a possibility of Seattle, but it's hard to imagine them burning around 1/8th of their cap space on a then 34 year old, and I'd have to imagine him being pretty ticked off with the Habs for him to agree to go in the first place.

There is a big difference between him and anyone else in the draft not named Byfield (who I have the Hawks pegged at getting lucky with). Guys like AF come around every 5 to 10 years.

Players like AF are like one every 1/2/3 years.... Comparing him to MacDavid is definitely premature.
