With Skinner..
This doesn't look like a bottom 4 team in the league to me...
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Sammy you can't compare Skinner and his one year left till UFA, to Aho who is still on his ELC. The Skinner trade rumour had been circulated for awhile. Interesting that no other team offered "more". Probably other teams would have had to trade cap to the Canes to fit Skinner into their lineup. Canes seemed to be content to get Pu and the 35th pick next summer...for whatever reason for Skinner, and not a NHLer in return.</div></div>

We are barely a rivalry anymore. The rivalry is dead without Backes, Reaves, Ott, Shaw and the decline of Seabrook/Keith/Toews.

Pens Line-Up w/ Line names ......till Deadline

I agree, except Oleksiak is left handed and is on his good side and Rutherford said Johnson is best fit of the LHD on the right side

brass at RW? that's the worst possible spot for him, we are already jammed at RW so much so that rust should be the 4th line RW(not sprong, sprong is not a 4th liner).

Roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>IgorKutchakokov</b></div><div>Yeah I mean that's fair - I just kinda would like to see (and I think it could be a very good 3rd line) Rust-Brass-Sprong given a shot. The NHL is constantly changing (Caps won with an Burakovsky-Eller-Connoly 3rd line) - I think that a second line of Hagelin-Malkin-Kessel allows Kessel to be offensive minded still and could be dominant, and that 3rd line I mentioned gives Sprong the leash to just go and score goals and allows the Pens to have their best 9 players all in the top 3 lines.. I'm sure we'll see combinations of everything, especially in the first couple months and with GMJR's comments about Brass at LW - but that's just my $.02</div></div>
Yeap makes sense. Brassard-Sprong could be considered as a weak chain by now but Rust could make it better. But I think Rust is better as a RW... Anyway if that line proves itself why not?

as i agree with everything but the past has shown mtl gets stupid when a quebec player is available. but that trade is far below the value we needed in return

It's a joke about the Canadiens...though that sort of thing does occasionally matter to them. The Drouin things was a big deal because they were finally getting a French "star."
ZAR makes sense to even up the value. I'll add him.

Trade with Pens
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>IgorKutchakokov</b></div><div>Yes but Patch is also a UFA after this year.. Penguins have hardly any Defensive depth, so I would be EXTREMELY hesitant to include Olli in a trade. I also don't agree with the analysis that Patch is far and away the best player in the trade. 67 points the most he's ever put up in a season (though his goal scoring record over the years is fantastic) and he's coming off a really poor year. Penguins are in win-now mode, I can't see them giving up their always highly rated (internally) 3rd line center AND second pairing Dman for Patch, I just can't.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mardzy</b></div><div>Pacioretty is a pending UFA as well though, so unless the deal is happening knowing an extension has been signed, I'm not sure he holds as much value as you're thinking, especially after his down season.
Pacioretty as pending UFA = Maata</div></div>
Pacioretty with Crosby or Malkin though and you have a 40 goal guy. I know he is a UFA but Pittsburgh needs some cap relief and Brassard and Matta gives them that. Plus I don’t think it would ever be just Pacioretty going back, Pittsburgh could easily pluck one of our young cheap wingers or defenceman with him. Just don’t think Montreal accepts a trade with Pacioretty in it without getting a pick or two back and with Pittsburgh it would have to be both teams moving a package, those packages would just center around Pacioretty and Matta.

Just Wow! So Amazing!
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>makeyourmove</b></div><div>Can i get some of whatever it is you are smoking?</div></div>
Dumoulin is great at defending the rush, gets lost in the D zone less and less every year, and is excellent at starting the transition up ice. He was the best and most consistent D-man for the 2017 Cup run, and while he'll never be worthy of Norris votes he'll quickly become a steal at that cap hit as contracts inflate.

Those trades and signings might be terrible, but they're nothing next to this. Dumo a 7th defenseman, really? Is there a way to give a comment one star?

It gives the Penguins the freedom to have a few more days to sign him before other teams can approach him.

The Nashville and Islander trades are utterly crazy. So you are trading a little used dman and a 3rd pick for Ellis. That is a bad joke and then Sheary is not close to Lee.

Mike Green isn't signing for no crappy $4 million per year, Try more like between $5 million to $5.5 million per. And Green already said no to Vegas doesn't want to play that far west. Green was supposedly to be included in the Tomas Tatar deal and nixed the trade to Vegas.

Karlsson is getting WAY more than $4.5 million. He plays a premier position and just put up 43 goals and nearly a PPG. Not to mention he's 25, so anything over 2 years and you're buying his UFA years. Have think it starts at $7 million per for him.
