ABB on 4th line would be mistake imo. Play him with some guys that can play offense or don't play him at all. Katchouk/Raddysh would make more sense with Maroon and Bellemare.

1. Back to back stanley cup wins vs back to back first round exits
2. 14 minutes of ice time per game vs 11 minutes of ice time per game
3. Former 25-30 goal scorer who can play centre in the bottom 6 and take faceoffs vs a one-dimensional enforcer who was unable to stay heathy for most of the year.
And so on.
Yeah, a second sounds fair.

I really hope JBB prioritizes just moving the salaries early to give more time for negotiating and being in on cheaper deals. also Back-up goalie is so important. VAsy can't keep playing this much.. I was really impressed by Hak in the playoffs. Think there are many vets who want to win, pay less taxes and live in a beautiful place. Stastny jumps off as a great utility knife at this point in his career

Gourde is an analytics darling though and Seattle plans on going to their grave following analytics (if it gets that far), so it's a guaranteed pick unless there's a side deal TBA.</div></div>
I think saying he should be fired is a little much.
I'm leery of Gourde's length of contract. At his size Im concerned of his longevity. His offense is also a little light for my tastes at his cap hit. He's also been really sheltered behind unbelievable C's. I think I take killorn

Then why would they trade a 2nd? Just so they can get one from another team? And on top of that they help a competing team that was in bit of a tight spot. And they keep salary back, despite being the one taking on money and sending an asset. Retaining also limits how many contracts they can retain this year and next. Lol it's actually dreadful.

I'm wondering if they don't take a Joseph or a Foote and leave themselves cap flexibility hoping Tampa has trouble clearing salary and their asking price drops. Get a young asset and then potentially get another proven player on the cheap.

Blackhawks have an extra forward slot available for protection. I haven't heard any specific rumors, but they could protect Palat. They actually also have Two 2nds, but IDK if they trade a 2nd for him.

Sure but a competent LW for McDavid which weirdly has been a struggle for EDM to find for a couple years could be worth a lot. He knows how to play with stars, he's been playing in tampa's top 6 for years throughout all their success. Or just sign Galchenyuk or something to save picks/punish tampa

Tampa quickly declines the Killorn trade. They won't be giving him away for free, and if they want the best return om their assets then they won't be trading him at all. If they did though, it would be for a lot more than this "offer".

Still way over the cap here. Killorn won't be on the shelf that long.
They will have to detonate this group quite a bit but, it will still be a contender after doing so. Just goes to show how stacked it really was to begin with.

Let them take one of those players or Boulet then. Why give up a 1st. You could probably make that cap dump trade without Seattle if u still needed too.</div></div>
I’ve got a feeling they’ll be moving two of Johnson, Gourde, Killorn and Palat. Killorn, Gourde and Palat aren’t cap dumps, just would be sold for less given the cap situation. The only guy they’d need to pay to move is Johnson in my opinion. ABB i think will be in a top 6 spot potentially taking Killorn or Palat’s spot on one of the top 2 lines.

Love the player and would help solidify that d core but 2 years of EJ aligns with the avs and mackinnon contract
Too risky IMO for them to make this deal</div></div>
Sometimes you gotta take the risk in order to be successful. Tampa gave up 3 first round picks for two bottom 6 players and it turned out to be the difference. The Avs have the talent up front but could absolutely use a guy like McDonagh. Even if it may hurt them down the road, the Avs widest window is right now. I understand your mindset and as a Lightning fan I used to think the same way, but in reality, having quality players is the most important factor of building a cup winning team. Besides, Colorado has some options to move money. Compher, Donskoi, Johnson, and Kadri all have moveable contracts and in my opinion it wouldn’t hurt to lose some of those guys. The Avs have the prospects/depth to replace them up front. I feel like McDonagh would provide invaluable experience to a blueline that tremendously needs it.

Exactly. These two guys are in their late 20s, have won two cups each, and have proven that their playoff value is higher than their regular season stats. It's my opinion that they both look to cash in this year on 4 - 5 year deals worth $3M+ for Goodrow, and approx $4.5M for Coleman.
