<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>- But why pick Sanderson at 7 though? He is 100% playing NCAA and finishing his degree for the next like 3-4 years so even if he is NHL ready he wont be coming over. Because of this teams looking for help sooner than later will avoid him. Those teams include but are not limited to Buffalo, Chicago, and Montreal. The 3 teams that pick after them and before Arizona's pick. If you have the option to take the more sought after player like Holtz/Perfetti then you should. Remeber they did just got Kevin Bahl in a trade and still have Ty Smith
- As for Buffalo LW is the last position they need, they already have Skinner locked up long term and Olofsson broke out this year as a great top 6 LWer. They really need a RW or center and ideally one that's more of a playmaker/2-way player. I think if Raymond is somehow available they 100% take him, otherwise they will probably be looking at Lundell.
- IMO there is a bit of a gap after the top 11, after that you have Quinn, Mercer, Jarvis, Holloway, etc. I don't see any scenario where one of these players leapfrogs anyone besides maybe Askarov.</div></div>
2 of the 10 scouts McKenzie talked to had Sanderson in their top 3. If he is available at 7, you take him, because he is better than Smith and Bahl by a mile, and Devils aren't ready to compete next year anyway. Stop rushing your players, look what happened to rushing Hughes...

You clearly way off... JP did fine in the nhl he’s in Finland because he wasn’t given opportunity for a bigger role that he earned. Kinda exact opposite of your uneducated silly comment

Regardless, it doesn't make sense. The Rangers dealt for Gauthier at the deadline. He took Puljujarvi's potential spot in the lineup. There's no room for JP anymore.</div></div>
1) Andersson had a tiny sample size in SHL this year, just 15 games.
2) he scored at 0.80 P/GP which is NOT "the exact same point rate" as Puljujarvi's 0.95 scoring rate.
3) Andersson's 5v5 play was abysmal in SHL whereas Puljujarvi lead Liiga in possession and shots by a wide margin and was near the top in GF%.
To cast these two players as equivalent is ignorant of the facts.

You can disagree with Puljujarvi's value on the trade market legitimately because none of us actually knows what any GM is willing to pay, but to say things like "absolutely unrealistic", "definitely unrealistic" and "were (sp) all laughing" is demonstrably false, as I proved in comments 1,2 and 5 in the link below. Puljujarvi has a similar or higher ceiling and far less risk than a pick in the mid twenties.

I will say overall the only things I’m not big on that you did is deal larsson away I’m very big on larsson personally. Dont care for Andersson personally and flipping that first for an aging vet I’d rather just bring jp back into the fold and give him the opportunity he earned a few years ago. But if your in the camp that he won’t return then I could get behind something like that.

Two thing to call out on the NJ side of the proposed deal and an added deal.
1) I'm curious about the value of Palms (or any rental for that matter) without knowing the number of games for next season. The proposed start is December '20, right? Shortened season? I can go both ways here - first, less games, less value. I think that's plain and simple. Second, digging deeper - shorter season becomes a sprint, so load up, value of a rental increases. I hope the Devils resign him, but if they move him I'd love to see a prospect coming back. If that 2020 pick is 10-15, my ask becomes tough/impossible (maybe the Devils adding a mid 21 pick to the mix). Not sure.
2) I doubt Colorado can take the duration of the Neal contract, but NJ certainly can. I'm not opposed to taking him on, so something to the effect of 2x1sts in 2020, 21, prospect, and Neal, for Palms. Just spit balling here!
Nice post!

A first and prospect was the ask for JP so your on the money there. People on this site tend to completely devalue players they really know nothing about.

Not much changes due to tight cap space

They don't have to resign either Ennis or Sheahan. Its likely both of them are going to price themselves out of Edmonton.
If the team itself recognizes that the flat cap is going to prevent any massive upgrades to the team - especially if they keep Neal - then they'll likely bet on the special teams again. It's likely they keep Chiasson and run him on the top unit with Neal on the second unit.
Holland is also notoriously patient with prospects. The only rookie I'd see making the team would be Bouchard if they don't resign Green. That'll strictly be due to him being too good for the AHL, not because they couldn't afford anyone else

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BeterChiarelli</b></div><div>Benning's worth at least a third round pick and a B-prospect.
Benson likely doesnt make the opening night roster, so will likely see a second contract very similar to what Jones was extended for. Two more cheap years. The Pouliot buyout expires after this season: if RNH is expected to make Kevin Hayes esque money on his next deal, that expiring buyout covers the bill sufficiently.
If the team is expecting to resign Larsson in the $3.5-$4M window, resigning Yamamoto effectively means dumping Neal in some manner. If Puljujarvi is insistent on still never coming back to Edmonton, and we know that Seattle is likely wanting to poach Jones, there probably exists some package involving both young men where Seattle takes on Neal's contract and Edmonton still manages a quality draft pick out of it.</div></div>

I think Holland would want a defensively adequate 3C who can kill penalties well so Nugent-Hopkins and Draisaitl don't have to. Kerfoot doesn't qualify.

Haha even that I wouldn’t look at from oilers perspective. It’s nothing against eichel it’s just a huge contract for a player have no need for. Leon and mcdavid both superior very lucky to have. Nuge will remain cheaper and in my opinion might not drive offence as well as Eichel but superior on defensive responsibility’s. I’m not sure there is a worse team to negotiate a deal with.

Trading eichel to Edmonton would be buffalo trying to get the least return for him.
Bouch is too important to Edmonton to use in a trade to add surplus talent upfront. Oilers wouldn’t do a 1-1 if the money could even work.
Holland isn’t likely to offer any firsts since again it’s adding surplus to an area not needed.
