would you take the gamble tho with Columbus and their russians line ? I wouldn't, if you know he is not there I would do it.
I did the trade on puckpedia pick tool, I agree the second 2nd might be a bit overkill

Soderblom in Montreal Hes stickhandling his way to some smoked meat
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lancebmx</b></div><div>Honestly I think Detroit just keeps Soderblom. If he can pull it together in his mid twenties we will be happy. Going to take our time with him. Barron is alright but I think we can find better options. He isn't the player we need right now. We need a veteran shut down style on the right side, that's why we signed Justin Holl but he hasn't worked out.</div></div>
You have 3 Shutdown in Seider, chiarot and Edvin, and losing Ghost as your only puck carrier, no ? Kinda need a good puck mover now, and Barron is that

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blazingbat11</b></div><div>Would Soderblom add size? yes, absolutely... Would he add skill? no, absolutely not.
There's nothing in his game that he has shown to be nothing more than a 4th line fringe NHLer. Trading Barron, who still has top 4 potential, for Soderblom is a waste of an asset. At most I'd throw is a mid rd draft pick, or a Ylonen, or a Kidney. That's it.</div></div>
he is almost 6'9.... no one at 6'9 make it before 24-25. It takes time, but he has the skills, barron showed more but it doesn't invalidate how good he can be on the bottom 6

you understand, and please ignore the canes fans who make zero sense, you don't give 4x FIRST ROUND PICK for a 50-60p player... it just never happens.
I know Cane fans will ask for that package, but it never happened.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CoachCoach</b></div><div>No, there is a misunderstanding by outside fans who don’t understand the direction this team is going. This team was projected to finish 7th in the Atlantic. Only 3 of SY’s draft picks are on the team with a bulk of “who he picked” set to arrive at the end of bad contracts.
When this team overachieved, the goal has now become playoffs, however not at the cost of long term contention. A flash in the pan run followed by more mediocrity and rebuilding is not the goal.</div></div>
But you have HEAVY contracts... with NTC, those will be costly with Seider and Raymond new contract
Holl 3.4M
Petry 2.3M
Chiarot 4.7M

It so funny to me because there is a disconnect with want wings fans want and what The Owner wants. Clearly, there's a push to win now with the way Yzerman did those trades last summer

c'mon, in MTL with the group he would do well, did well last year. This year is just a **** show synergy wise for the Leafs.
MArner is still a TOP 5 RW in the league and with him our top 6 is insane.
Ghule also helps Toronto a lot on their TOP 4 + Gallagher who will fight every night and a top 5 pick for a good ELC player, which they need.
I think its a win/win

need for need
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stadel</b></div><div>This is good but not what the sabres need from their blue line right now. Dahlin and Byram are two of the best shooting d-men in the league. All 3 are excellent puck movers. Not that you can ever have too many, but at this stage they need to put a premium on getting guys who can do the stuff without the puck. B/c it's looking more and more like Samuelsson won't be the guy they thought.
Im not arguing against your valuation of mailloux, but its not where the Sabres need to spend their assets right now.</div></div>
I mean I would do a reinbacher trade, but the price would be expensive. Probably Quinn
