Dunkin Boy comes to Raleigh
As a Boston fan I would take that deal. Usually rebuilding teams arent stubborn about retaining salary for one year. Buffalo didnt retain on Eichel since that would mean spending cap space on him for 5 years

Neely and Sweeney should have been fired too
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bhavikp27</b></div><div>Clearing some cap space isn't that hard. All depends on if Bergeron returns. If he does and the plan is to give another shot, they would first need to add a 2C. Marchand, McAvoy and Grzelcyk missing time at the start of the season will be challenging. It's not impossible but not that easy either. Or we could also start the rebuild.
My issue was more about the "lying since 2019 and core hasn't been good enough" which is false because they had a decent chance the past three years mostly because of the core. Blame the GM/President/Owners but not the best players of the team.</div></div>
I am blaming the front office, not the players, I guess I should have clarified I think getting Hall las year was a good move, but it was mainly this years moves. Giving up the first and signing Lindholm for 8 years was the front office lying to themselves.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bhavikp27</b></div><div>Agreed with the title but the rest went sideways especially the first two sentences.</div></div>
What about this team looks like a Stanley Cup contender? We only have one scoring line and only have $2.5 million in cap space, our best center is Charlie Coyle. If we want to bring Bergeron back we have to clear up cap space which means trading away all of our overpaid depth guys. Tell me what makes you believe the Bruins can win a Stanley Cup next season.

Neely and Sweeney should have been fired too
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>From an outside perspective, Bruins core wasn't the problem. Choosing to rebuild some time soon would definitely be wicked smaht. But, if they wanted to, I think the Bruins could use this post season as a guide for a quick retool and another run next year, as long as they aren't committing too much to Bergeron or any other aging players. Plus, BOS has some pretty promising prospects that should be able to slot in nicely next season on ELC's and cap space to reach into free agency a bit if needed. Either way, BOS probably has the pieces to pull of a fairly quick turnaround on a rebuild or retool.</div></div>
Boston has less than $3 million in cap space, and thats without Bergeron signed, they have to unload a lot of contracts to be able to sign Bergeron, and add more to the group.

Neely and Sweeney should have been fired too
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KennyBoi</b></div><div>Don't think March or Hall are getting moved anytime soon. If Sweeney does go the quick retool route then ya all the guys on expiring deals are going to be moved, not so sure on the guys with term though. And ima be honest, Sweeney's drafting the past 3 drafts have been pretty competent, especially his 2021 draft. We'll see how he does this year though.</div></div>
I fully expect the Bruins to re-sign Bergeron and trade more futures to try and win next season, so I don't expect our offseason to look anything like this, but if you look at how many assets the Bruins can acquire, I think this is the route the front office should take. But even though Sweeneys draft in 2021 looked much better it doesn't change the fact that McAvoy, Carlo and Swayman have been his only picks that have made an impact.

He has 1 year left on his contract and the Bruins aren't contending for anything next year, I'm selling him for the best offer, and there won't be many better offers.
GM's aren't going to give up more for a player with 1 year of team control. Look at what the Senators got for Karlsson, at the time everyone said they got fleeced. The teams you listed might have better assets, but they probably won't give them up.

As a Boston fan I wouldn't mind 2 years of Kassian and Barrie, if we trade Pasta its gonna start a rebuild so who cares what we're paying these players. I know the Oilers don't have the cap space to re-sign Pasta but I bet he would definitely go to Edmonton to play with Draisaitl and McDavid

The Bruins can lie to themselves and say they are a contender but what good does that do for the franchise? Trade more future assets, sign horrible long-term contracts just to lose in the first round again? Its time to reset and go through a rebuild.

I would like to get more for Marchand however he is 34 years old. Last season he got 1.14 points per game and the 4 years prior he got 1.26 points per game, so the regression is starting to show.

Offseason After Eichel Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BuFfaLOFaN</b></div><div>I think Peterka makes the roster THIS season. But yea this roster looks good. Only thing if change is I would sign Campbell for 2 years and hope that Levi cracks the NHL roster when his contracts up. Miller or Mahura less years also if we draft a young RD in this year's draft. There is a bunch of really good ones between 11-25</div></div>
Giving Campbell less term is ideal, but I think he needs at least 4 years to sign. Kind of like Ullmark, Boston has Swayman but they needed a vet and got Ullmark, and had to give him more than ideal term.

I put Peterka and Johnson on the Taxi Squad because I think they both crack the lineup at some point throughout the season, just not opening day.

I still don't think this team is good enough for the playoffs. I just think the teams I have above them are better, and the Atlantic is so good as well, they could possibly get both wild cards.
1. Hurricanes
2. Islanders
3. Penguins
4. Flyers
5. Capitals
6. Rangers
7. Devils
8. Jackets
