Vancouver Canucks signed Quintin Hughes (3 Years / $1,604,167 AAV)
916k instead of 925k. Sounds like a good deal to me.

What Peters Wants
I like this line up , I am so unsure of what I want to see in October, Lindholm could put up a ton of points on that first line, but when he is slotted in that second line that is a defensively dominant line! I also worry about Chuky dragging Johnny into more scrums than he would like to see. I think that line that you have put as a first line is a great scoring line though! Not a bad problem to have,

Lines look good, suspect Domi would cost more.
LOVE Drais, but looks good.
Well done..-~

Karlsson
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jerry</b></div><div>Yah it sucks not having a pick. The worst case scenario for the Flames is NYI, VAN, and EDM winning the lottery. So for my sanity I hope that doesn't happen. If EDM wins it should turn their franchise around, but that's also what people said when they won the McDavid lottery...</div></div>
Eww I hope Dahlin doesn’t go to Van... :cry
Yea honestly Chia had the most gravy job in the NHL.. can believe how badly he screwed that up.. ugh
Think about it.. if Chiarelli did nothing, he’d have McDavid, Hall, Draisaitl, Nuge, Eberle, maybe not barzal but at least a piece (I heard Erikkson Ek), Nurse, Klefbom, Benning, Puljujarvi, And probably still Yamamoto. I’m sure you could make a package for Karlsson our of these pieces....

What The Flames Should Do
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jcambers</b></div><div>Why trade Hamonic?! He's not a big point-getter, but he was one of the most solid D-man last year and his current AAV is incredible. If we're going to trade a 3/4 d-man, Brodie has much more value.</div></div>
I think Brodie's skating ability and offensive upside is a better fit for the style I'd like to see the Flames play. He has also played well with Giordano, and as incredible as Gio/Hamilton are together, I'd like to see them each run a pair so the top 4 is even better.
I think it's more likely that they move Brodie than Hamonic, but I would prefer to keep Brodie.

Gully Stays
Yeah I would agree that the blame shouldn't all fall on Gulutzan. The Flames had some rotten luck ever since this losing streak started and are shooting something like 4% since late February. The team needs more proven finishers for next season. I wouldn't be shocked to see Gully go, but I think they would do alright if they keep him and improve certain areas. Brodie seems to be the guy on the way out and I'd agree with what you said about him.
Edit: Also if we're giving up Rasmus Andersson (top D prospect) to Pittsburgh, I'd rather get their top RW prospect in Daniel Sprong vs a 25 year old RW who has topped out at 38 points.

NYR Trade V2
NYR paid quite a bit to get Zibanejad. And Kreider is valued pretty highly by NYR, rightly so.
Fox is a really great long-term play for NYR (American kid, Brian Leetch v2 anyone?), but that package is significantly weighted in CGY's favor.
I could see [Fox + Stone + CGY 4th] being an interesting conversation for [Kreider + NYR 2nd]. Even that brings in another LW and CGY has Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Bennett, Ferland, Versteeg as options there, plus Mangiapane and a few others in the minors.

Flames TDL (Assuming Smith is out long-term)
Honestly aside from the FLA game Rittich has been lights out and I feel pretty safe with him being in there even if smith is out longer. Even Hamonic has been really good lately, brodie admittedly has been awful. The main problem with this team is their play at home, they **** the bed against FLA and didn't show up for 40 min against Boston. With the way Anaheim and San Jose are trending, as well as LA now getting some wins, I don't see this team making the playoffs anymore. They've dug themselves a hole cuz of their atrocious play at the dome, and for this roster to not make the playoffs is appalling. Gotta think if that happens, GG is out.
