Thread: Laine

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>The Jets don't need to move Perreault and this is just a downgrade for Winnipeg. This trade fixes a small hole at center by creating a huge hole on wing, so the Jets still have a hole and Caufield and the first don't close the gap between 2 years of Domi and Laine.

A possible deal that fixes holes for Winnipeg and doesn't involve Suzuki or KK is tough, but a few of us Jet fans discussed this:

Danault extended for 5 years at less than 6.
Romanov
Harris
2nd round pick

for

Laine.

That at least addresses needs for Winnipeg instead of the normal downgrades. I think Chevy would likely just keep Laine off this was the best offer, but this at least fixes holes.</div></div>

I understand adding Romanov instead of Caufield but if Danault is signed for 5 years at less than 6 Montreal would keep him. More than this I honestly believe that Domi would be a better fit for wpg because danault as great as he is defensively is lacking top 6 scoring, his past 4 seasons he has played with montreals best wingers. This has dragged his point totals up significantly higher than they should be. Also I don't think trading laine away would create a hole for wpg considering they probably have the best top 4 wingers in the league(at least offensively). My counter offer would be:

Domi signed for 5 years at less than 6
Romanov
Harris
2nd round pick( st louis)
3rd round pick( Chicago)

I personally would do this trade but I know for a fact that the Montreal management is in love with romanov and there's no way they would trade him. I think they see him as a future captain for montreal.
